This isn't a question of when or where Saban will be when he retires...how do you think he'll retire?

-After winning ___th National Championship he has a post-game presser announcing his retirement?
-Out of the blue, in the middle of the season, a la Steve Spurrier?
-Before the season starts by announcing that this will be his final year as head football coach?
-Like Joe Paterno amidst a gigantic scandal?

He will die coaching or like 5 minutes after he's done.

Next season. He loses 3 straight to Hugh Freeze and finishes with a losing record to him in his career. He beats Les Miles and L6U. Then Les Miles beats A&M for 6 straight and Les is carried off the field.

By the time Saban resigns after next season, Bert's carotid artery will be 97 percent Nachos Grande.

People do realize that Saban is no longer a real Head Coach. He now has the ability to run his program more like a CEO of a Company and he is finally having fun doing so. He has all of the pieces in place for success without him having to do the daily grind.

He doesn't even really have to recruit anymore. They come to him and he picks the ones who he thinks will work out best for his "company"

Anyone who thinks that Saban is retiring anytime soon is a dumbass. He is exactly where he wants to be in his career and he is loving every single minute of it.

He sure won't be a pathetic quitter and hang it up mid season and leave all his players and coaches to fend for themselves.

I think that he'll retire like the Bear did...when he feels that he can no longer maintain the excellence that he has created. Probably announce sometime during the season that he is done at the end of the year.

But, if the excellence continues unabated, who the hell knows?

I hope he announces that he will retire after winning this Championship. Then, after watching 24 hours of celebration from the world, he holds a Presser at 4 to say that he only announced his retirement so that other school's fans knew what it was like to celebrate for 24 hours after a victory over Alabama and he has no intention of ever leaving Alabama.
