How do you leave out SEC East champ Ga at 12-1 that has two top ten wins?
How do you leave out the SEC champ LSU at 11-2 with the most top ten wins of anyone 3?
None of the other conference contenders has a win over an OOC powerhouse team like Ga does over Oregon.
None of the other conference contenders currently has two top ten wins like Tenn.
And no one would have 3 top ten wins like LSU with a conference title.
In all honesty, if LSU beats Ga, 3 SEC teams would have better resumes than anyone outside of the SEC.

LSU is making the case for a 12 team playoff.
If we win the SEC and get left out I’m fine with it. Don’t lose to FSU and Tennessee. It’ll leave a bad taste in our mouths and put the team on a mission next year.

They won't have but one top ten win after the SECCG

Ga suddenly has far more fans outside of our conference than they do in, hoping for a Ga win.

Others more deserving get in. It is Tennessee’s fault for not beating Georgia. The committee always looks at conference champs first, which Tennessee is not one. There is a good chance of filling all slots that way, right now. The committee will then look to best matchups. Tennessee possibly has a 5% chance at most of sneaking in.

Agreed but I am fine with it, Georgia is a poor matchup for Tennessee so I don’t think they would have a legitimate shot at winning the playoff with a poor defense. If Tennessee wins out and misses the playoffs, it’s still been a great year. I can live with it

LSU was arse against Arkansas. They won't beat Georgia.

Chicken said it best:
IF LSU wins out, you can't say head to head matters with LSU/Tennessee and then dismiss it when it comes to LSU/Georgia.

No2 Ohio St was arse against Northwestern for the same reason, cold and bad weather.

Nope, they'll say it's a rarity and UGA would win 9 times out of 10 as an excuse to leave LSU out.

Plus numerous LSU starters were playing with the flu.

Someone is always gonna be left out. They have a 64 team tourney, for basketball, and we always end up bitching about good teams, who deserve to be in, that don't get an invite...
When they expand to 12 teams, there will still be fans completely in their feelings about getting ranked 13-15. It isn't a perfect system, however, it's definitely better than it used to be.

It’s possible to have a worse take but it would take some effort. If Georgia beats LSU, and Ohio State beats Michigan then Tennessee has about a 75% chance of getting in. The only other team with a good chance of getting in in that scenario is USC if they win out.

You can if the other team has two losses. They aren’t putting a two loss team into the playoffs with other teams more deserving in the way. If the other teams lose, then yes

I agree if LSU loses, it would come down to Tenn and USC.

We’re going to have to wait for the playoffs to expand before we see 3 SEC teams in a 4 team playoff though.

A one loss team that’s faced one top ten team is more deserving than a two loss team that’s played 4 top ten teams? Explain that logic?
