Completely agree.

Not trying to speak for all Missourians, but not really having a dog in the fight (no pun intended) I'll probably be pulling for GA.
If I was pressed for a reason I would default to:
1. GA is SEC East
2. Bama's got enough natty's for the time being
Just really hoping for a good game though!

Really doesn’t make sense for anyone to support Georgia. Another Saban win doesn’t mean Jack **** at this point.
This.
Saban just throws the trophy onto his personal pile, and Alabama adds a new numbie to their already absurd NC count.
A Georgia win would give Kirby the chance to set up for a solid career with the high potential for more titles to come. Not good news for anyone not named Alabama.

Most of them likely don't have a strong preference, Bama winning would just be more of the same, rather than UGA finally getting over the hill...
Best guess, is that these programs absolutely don't want UGA to win:
Auburn
Florida
These programs would be fine with a UGA win, but would be just as happy to continue to "1980" for eternity:
Tennessee
USC
LSU is probably a split crowd, some have a weird hate boner for Kirby Smart/UGA of late, and others just despise Bama to the core.
Outside of that, couldn't speak to a lot of the SECw fan bases but probably more in that second group than anything else, maybe slightly skewed toward Bama "support".

I don’t care either way. Part of me would like to see UGA win one. Another part of me wants Bama to deny them again just for the melt and continuance of 1980 jokes

Dang good question. Why in the world are all these Mississippians fans of Bama or LSU but you will find tons of both of them here.
I don't get it myself because the majority of them have never even been to Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge much less spell either one correctly.

Sorry, just don't get these sentiments at all.Other than trolling purposes WTF does "1980" matter to LSU fans? Not even a rival of LSU and I suppose you're just rolling over and accepting Bama as your Daddy.
Oh poor UGA baby, got his little feelings hurt that someone else doesn't like them.
Look, I won’t put words in that poster’s mouth as to his reasons but if you’re unaware that UGA fans are probably the most obnoxious fans in the conference (it’s not even disputable when you look at it relative to the team’s modest accomplishments) I don’t know what to tell you. Given all that, 1980 is funny to almost everyone.

Don’t really care either way but if I had to choose….
UGA barely. UGA fans have been tormented long enough.

he dislike has waned substantially in the last 10 years or so. Maybe it's because I live near the NC border and the UGA fans I know here are all good people.
There being practically no steam in your team after we made Spurrier quit in 2015 doesn't help matters.
Other than that fluke win in OT in Athens a few years ago, I can't remember when y'all have been competitive in that game since Clowney/Lattimore, and they weren't human.

In fairness, we root for the same thing every time they (Gators) play Tennessee.

So what you're saying is if we win a few rings over the next decade we can earn the right to kill some trees, tackle people in the crowd at a Sugar Bowl, put our ball sacks on passed out opposing fans, and threaten gun violence after a loss?
fricking sweet. I never knew trophies are what gave Bama fans their hall pass to be such dirt bags.

I’m saying UGA’s real fans (like the 80% who are alumni and/or have even been inside the stadium the last few years) compared to the same grouping from the other schools are probably the most obnoxious in the conference. That’s the only grouping that (most) of us on here associate with.
I actually agree with you that the bottom 5% of the Bama fanbase is probably the worst in the conference right now. Fortunately I don’t have to interact with that trash.
Can I explain anything else?

Why would anyone outside of the State of Alabama be cheering for Alabama? I think you are wrong on most of these states.
Because they don’t want to lose their 1980 jokes. Bama winning another title means nothing at this point to non-Bama fans
That being said most are probably cheering against Bama and plenty more don’t give a shite

I just want a good game like the last time they both played for it all. Respect both programs and their coaching staffs.
