How am I wrong about these teams being really good in 2025?

Just wait until your games with them are officiated by fans of theirs.

I've said for years that half of the conference is below average.
It is the same as it ever was.

This is 100% correct but it defies the narrative of most of the people on this board that Texas would never have a winning record in the SEC.

It’s definitely bullshite. They should have given them LSU Bama or Ole Miss instead of Vandy. Texas is gonna win most of those and brag about how they own the SEC
OU got screwed the worst.

Sankey loves Texas. Get over it.
This year easy schedule. Someone has to get one.
Why not the most popular school in college......Hook'Em!

By definition, half of any conference will be below average for that conference.
But half the SEC isn't below average for all of CFB and wouldn't be below average in other conferences. The reality is other than Vandy, all of the teams in the SEC are in the top 35 nationally in terms of team talent. And having more talent on the teams in the SEC compared to other conferences does make a difference.
This doesn't impact how difficult a team's SEC schedule is because you're comparing it to other SEC schedules. It does impact comparing a SEC schedule (even a weak one) to a Big 12 or ACC schedule.

Average aggie IQ, folks

Must be genetic. The reasons behind daughter’s rejection from Texas are becoming more and more evident

SEC schedules aside, if UT isn't as good as their win/loss record indicates it may be, then they probably won't advance far into the playoffs. Washington beat them in the semifinal last season. Likewise, I think a weak regular season schedule had some to do with UGA losing to Alabama in the 2021 SEC title game. You remember that UGA supposedly had this generational defense, but it got exposed in the title game.

They swapped UGA SOS

UTa always gets preferential treatment.
Ask them, they will tell you they deserve it.

2023 Washington was like 2022 TCU - loaded with 6 & 7 year players that were only eligible because of Covid. Neither school will play for the national title again in our lifetimes. This was a freak circumstance.
You were knocking Texas for losing to Washington last year in the first round of the playoffs. Michigan lost in 2022 to TCU and won it all the next season. Kind of makes you think.....

As a Texas fan, I can tell you from experience that talent does not make a team good. There is a huge difference between 5 star talent and a 5 star team.

You should probably stay away from this argument until next year. The SEC out of conference record this year strongly works against this point.

I disagree.
UGA won the eastern division on 2011. We beat nobody that year. No one.
Half of the conference is below average. And there will be consistent seasons in college football where that is true (not just respective to the SEC but respective to P5 conferences).
