I’ve seen various fans, primarily LSU fans, allude to Jimbo doing FSU dirty after winning the natty. I didn’t follow Jimbo’s exit there enough to know how he destroyed what Bowden built.

Or is this just sour grapes revisionist history by fans, and FSU was actually in a good position after Jimbo left.

The answer can be found in your question.

That's not really the question. The REAL question is, will he destroy A&M the same way or in a totally NEW way???

I'm gonna guess it had more to do with his wife boning players. That could do some strange things to a man

To be completely fair it was a bit of both. FSU wasn't giving him the money he was asking for around facilities and coaching salaries and the cracks were showing. He had some bad luck with a few injuries and recruits that weren't working out and Dabo was running wild with momentum and an open checkbook at Clemson. If you listen to Jimbo one of the things he has continually mentioned is support from the Administration as key to success. I wouldn't be surprised if his divorce also soured him.

He was having his worst season and lots of FSU fans were pissing all over him and that was also grading on him after he had so much success there. Essentially he was being told he needed to win NC's and beat Clemson but wasn't given the tools needed to keep up. A&M came by and gave him everything he wanted and then some and so he left.

FSU then made the problem much worse by hiring Taggert. There was still talent there at FSU and building blocks in place but he blew that up in a hurry and they fell into the abyss. They are starting to climb out slowly now and should be fine but the reality is you are going to have trouble Competing with the big boys if you aren't willing to spend like them and the Admin isn't fully supportive. FSU had basically been punching above its pay grade for a long time and they thought the colors on their jersey and location would make that continue forever.

To be fair, it's worth noting that FSU has made ZERO progress in re-building their program post Fisher era.

And the last sentence to that article:

‘It’s just getting started”.

Fisher had issues at the end of his tenure there but the administration had dropped the ball on many of his requests.

So reading that article it sounded like they had some academic issues that were solvable and lots of generic "entitlement" discussion. The thing I love about it is they talk about Taggert as this savior and how incredible he was going to be and the AD is very sour grapes as well (honestly it's pretty low rent for either of them to comment in an article like this).

The only concrete thing they had was talking about how he missed on several QB's but it sounded like the injury to Francois was the real dagger. Of course Jimbo isn't in the article nor is anyone that gave Jimbo's side.

The other thing I found funny is how they talk about entitlement over and over and yet they downplay Jimbo's accomplishments there and act as if anyone should be able to win big at FSU.

The last I looked Jimbo opened the season as the #3 team in the nation against Alabama. That was 2017, the same year he left.

Sounds like a lot of Rant mythology. Lots of that going around these parts.

Calling rightfully-frustrated fans "drunk" and telling them to "get a job" probably didn't endear him to the fanbase. Especially when they were 5-6 in his last season

Y’all should probably just worry about your own drunk of the coach, much better when it’s the fans and not the ones in the program.

So now you're kicking a guy that's fighting alcoholism and has since been sober?

Aggies really are all class, but I guess you get it from your coach since he does the same thing.

Jimbo cracks me up. Sometimes his hat looks like something a toddler would wear at the beach and every game with his readers it's like he's doing a morning crossword like an old guy in a nursing home.
