Maybe we ain’t broke.

Just because the state is broke, doesn’t mean TAF is broke. There is a reason TAF is not part of the public fisc and is made up entirely of private donations.

All the hurricane relief money is secretly funneled into a special slush fund. We have millions to spend on a new coach.

The state isn’t broke either. It has a billion dollar surplus right now

Ever drive through rural Louisiana ? Farming crawfish apparently pays better than you'd think. Really nice houses, with nice trucks in the drive, with a bunch of shallow fields connected by culverts and a funny looking boat on blocks somewhere that has a bizarre not-quite-a-paddlewheel gizmo on the back.

I think that's part of where the money comes from.

When you deny enough children treatment at children’s hospitals, you can use the endowment to buyout LSU football coaches.

Have you driven on the roads of LA? There is no shoulder. I assume it is the Cajun Mafia but sure as hell isn't the state.

The operative word is "right now." The surplus is a surprise windfall because of $80/bbl oil price filling the coffers with unexpected severance fees ... but don't worry... it all will be pissed away by the end of this legislative session...

Please dump it all into your public roads. When you get more money, rinse and repeat
