The better question: How far will Bama drop replacing AJ and CJ.That's a tough hurdle, even for Saban.

Not bad, it's not like AJ is out there making incredible throws. If he can throw flag routes off of play action, and complete screen passes then y'all will be ok

Depends on our Ol progressing and if Henry can become the power back we missed after Lacey left.

To the bama fans referencing McElroy's season in 2009, that is fool's gold. The offenses in the SEC have improved leaps & bounds since that year. I remember that being a pretty down year for offenses, really. Tenn was terrible, Auburn had Chris Todd, LSU had Crowton, and even UF's offensive machine slowed down a good bit after Tebow's concussion. It's a different landscape, now, and a good running game with a good defense won't get you quite as far as it did in years past.

However, many teams in the SEC will be replacing experienced QBs, so it will be interesting to see how that shakes out.

All you need these days is a good running game. Just ask Auburn

AJ has been a great quarterback, and aside from his ungodly chest tattoos, a great man. While it will be hard to replace him, I have no doubt that Bama has a proverbial stable of quarterbacks waiting in the wings. The running game/oline will wreak havoc on other teams and allow the passing game to develop.

It's his extensive experience that will be missed. You don't just replace that with no hiccups, regardless of talent level.

So nobody thinks Simms takes over? What about Del Rio? How many QB's will be on the roster?

Looks like it'll be a red-shirt freshman taking over. I don't think LSU has a much to worry about but I think Bama may be in trouble. Thank God for a strong running game. I'm not saying we'll suck but I just don't know about being top 5 again. We'll see.

How pray tell did you come to this conclusion...? lmbo.. So Bama's gonna start either someone who has never played a down or someone who hasn't even transferred... Riiiight? It's amazing the stuff that Bama fans come up with. Even when Saban said Sims was the unquestioned #2, Bama fans were like "no he isn't" lol.

So who's it going to be?
I've been wondering who is on the shelf for QB?

Was going to start a topic in the Bama Section after searching and not finding the answer.

I started this thread in the Bama section last week. No clear answer was given but seemed like Cornwell and Coker were given as possibilities. Sims wasn't mentioned at all IIRC

The biggest concern for Tuscaloosa replacing AJ is for the local tattoo industry. Will the replacement AJ be cool with letting blind/drunk/first-time tattoo artists have free reign on their chest?

Arent possibilities the only possible answers we can give?

I'd say either Del Rio or Morris. I don't see anybody coming in and starting their first year. Sims will remain the backup.

Barker, McElroy, and McCarron all won national championships as rookie starters.
