Auburn has more money than most schools in the SEC with their tech grads. For the first time they are united in pushing the program forward. Look out.
Y'all have a ton of money, there's no doubt.

Paid out +/-$40 million in 2 yrs in buyouts
Paid out +/-$15 million in 2 yrs in football salaries
All that While building a +$100million FOF
And collecting +$15million in NIL
About to pay on the conservative side +/-$6-7 million for a whole new football staff.

I don't care who you are, that's a chunk of change in a short time frame. Auburn is >>

I think he just struggled in SEC culture. Same reason Bert failed at Arkansas when he was successful at Wisconsin and is now 7-1 at fricking Illinois

The players, boosters, fans are wayyyy different down here than up north

Yep. And the AD who hired him clearly didn’t prepare him for the realities of the job

In 10 months you've never seen that sweet little cupcake Clesi Crochet mentioned on this board?

No. I do not venture to the SECR often.

Harsin had the 3rd highest winning percentage at BSU when Auburn hired him, behind Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney. That was a big talking point from Auburn people when many of us said we had to google him. On paper, he came with the best HC qualifications that Auburn had ever hired.

He is very professional and talks a good game about responsibility, accountability, dedication, toughness and hard work. In his mind he did things "the right way" and he even mentioned that in the closing statement he released today.

Who knew he was in over his head for SEC level coaching & recruiting? I mean he hired a bunch of veteran SEC coaches to help him out, Mason/Bobo/Friend/Williams/Etheridge etc. all were versed in SEC recruiting and knew how much manhours and labor has to go into a recruiting class.

The money is there, but it is also now close to the vest. The money people are tired of spending money without having say so last time around. It is not the amount of money, they have a lot of money, but is who is making the decision that they have to pay for. Greene was a figurehead that was given power by the then President. Nobody besides Greene wanted Harsin. Harsin is a good coach, but a bad fit for Auburn. Gogue was going to retire for the second time and really could care less. The previous President (Leath) was the biggest fool and he pissed off many of the money people. Now AU has the President they want and one who understands how athletics works for a university. The money will start flowing again and yesterday just opened up the pipeline.

Tennessee is probably the only program that rivals Auburn for meddling, toxic boosters. Chris Lowe once commented that Knoxville can make the Plains look good when they are feuding. That’s how we ended up with Pruitt and Fulmer as the AD. Even Peyton was up to his knees in the crap. Fortunately for us everyone seems to be on the same page at the moment.

One of our boosters was neutralized after the Schiano fiasco and has taken to showing the world his football operations prowess with an NFL franchise.

The AU response. I would copy and paste but it is rather lengthy.

Refer to coaching changes board to see I put Ruhle over Kiffin.

Like I said before, I wanted Norvell over Kiffin, even though y’all think everyone wants him

Back in January when the dead period was lifted, Harsin only went to schools in Birmingham, while Kirby went to 27 schools. This was before the investigation.

Yep. That would definitely be a problem.

Right. This could have handled a lot better by the athletic department and president. This response took over week with rumors building up. All they had to do was be transparent about what they were doing. Auburn now has a new president and a new AD coming in. Hopefully this will fix issues.
