Be real. You know Mizzou's stadium before the reno was relatively small and didn't compare well...
If you're talking about the present renovations since joining the SEC, then no, the updates have been nearly entirely about changing cosmetics, structure and adding a premium seating level on the student side. Don't think the plan was to make a large change in the actual head count at the gate.
The addition of the east side loge level with indoor/outdoor seating is around 850 seats, the tier above it adds only around 4000 seats. The renovation consumed anywhere from several to nearly 10 rows of the existing east side stands.
The hill renovation from a year ago was all about moving the hill closer to the field (removing the cavernous arc from the track and field days) and making it look better, actual capacity should be about the same. Faurot has a large variance in seating and actual capacity due to the hill + sro.
The listed record capacity is right at 75,200 from decades ago for a Penn St game. Seat sales are still going to be in the 60's while the actual capacity may now approach 78 to 79k but more likely only around 77k, assuming we decide to attempt a max sro crowd at some point.

Works for me. May be larger than the 24th....

Relative to all CFB stadiums, sure. Relative to the "big boys", which I was thinking A&M and similar sized ones you aren't big, but smaller.

Well I don't think we've really disagreed at all then, just looking at it from different standpoints. Obviously when comparing us to Michigan, Bama, A&M, Tennessee, etc we're smaller. But in the national landscape we're pretty well off.

It looks good. I am impressed with it. It is factually in the bottom half of the SEC in size (and still will be) yet it will match up well vs some major football program's stadiums. That is all I was saying.
Amen brotha. Obviously we'll never be among the biggest in the conference, but I'm just glad it's starting to look more aesthetically pleasing and less like a hole in the ground.

Could be. I used our pre renovation numbers. Might be 21-23 after we finish renovations

FWIW, the design process is kicking off for the $50 million+ renovation of the O'Dome set to begin at some point next season
Thank god. Much needed for a program like Florida.

Remember our stadium was built for the Big 8 where we were pretty much 3rd behind OU and NU.
The disgraceful MU administration of the 70's-80's robbed us of a competitive program for a decade. Could be better but things could also be a whole lot worse right now.

Absolutely.
Enjoy the moment.
Good times in Missouri.

I was looking at this pic...
...and I'm not seeing any suites. I'd think that would be a focus of any renovation. I'm guessing that like the PMAC, UF will offer premium seating options other than suites...
PMAC Legends Club
PMAC Courtside Club
Not pimping the PMAC by any means. Would actually love a renovation of the arena that would add suites, or better yet see a new arena built.
Just surprised that UF would do such a pricey renovation w/o adding suites is all.

Although we don't have the massive video boards of some, between these...
...and this...
...we're looking pretty good, as far as video boards. This season should see a lot less adds on the screens as well.

State's stadium expansion looks very nice.
It's amazing how much bigger it looks now even though it only adds like 6,000 or so seats.
How are you guys financing this again? Some sort of bonds right? If a State fan could explain the details about how y'all are financing it I'd really appreciate it.
I wish Bjork would look into additional creative ways to raise money in addition to Donations and CGA's. Our current half arse new expansion rendering just give me the MEHs.

Really big improvement of the exterior!
Question: Is Commonwealth Stadium, like Rupp Arena, owned by the state or the city, rather than UK?

It's an on campus facility, so owned and operated by UK.
And yes, it is going to be a very big improvement for the exterior. No more 1970's bomb shelter...

I couldn't remember if you ever figured it out.
My estimate was actually very close. But those are the exact dimensions.

This is only a preliminary rendering, but there will be some loge suites and other premium seating options. There are some other renderings.
The big thing is that the entire second level right now retracts for the indoor track. That is going away and there will be a second level concourse and other amenities for these new premium seats. We will learn a lot more in the next couple months as the designs are finalized.

We took out $68mil in bonds and will pay them back with the CGAs on the seats...
FWIW, Bjork actually did the same thing with the basketball arena, he just waited until you had more cash in hand to do it...

Engie, you probably know more about Ole Miss than I do, and I'm a die hard fan. Where do you find the time?

Keep in mind, that 6K is a net gain. The bleachers that previously occupied the north endzone held about 3K. The new expansion structure holds around 9K.
