Well, Manning has been a Heisman Favorite since high school so there’s that.

Projected #1 selection in the draft as well.

You would’ve said the same about Burrow in 2018

I just said that last season he was a middle of the pack quarterback who struggled with turnovers in 3 of LSU’s losses

I gave you the only two in the past 15 years who meet that criteria. Both had better stats than Nuss

QB rating is supposed to take all of that into account.
Care to guess where Nuss finished last season in QB rating? He finished 9th in the SEC, 41st in the nation.
These preseason quarterback threads where a fanbase proclaims their guy is the best never backfire. Just ask Tennessee, A&M, and Auburn fans among others.

You're being disingenuous. On this list, only Dart and Milroe are clearly better. Beck and Ewers were ever so slightly better. Those 4 were not 1st year starters. 3 were on clearly better teams. Sellers had a laughable number of attempts and yards compared to Nuss.
Y/att %
Nuss 7.7 64
Beck 7.8 64.7
Ewers 7.8 65.8
Dart 10.8 69.3
Green 8.4 60.4
Thorne 8.6 62.8
Cook 7.9 62.6
Nico 7.8 63.8
Sellers 8.5 65.6 (2500 yards on 299 attempts)
Arnold 5.8 62.6
Milroe 8.9 64 4
Pavia 7.7 59.4
Lagway 10 59.9

Qb ratings formulas are highly debatable every season

who do you think should be the favorite?
I get Arch being a head scratcher because there isn’t much tape there
but Nuss has a good first year as a starter and is coming back with a lot of talent around him.
he makes a reasonable step forward and he will have elite numbers in the best conference in football.
Nuss was 5th in Passing Yards Per Game and 10th in Tds last year.
If you look at returning that’s 1st and 3rd.

If Nuss was so good last season, why didn’t he jump into the draft? It was a historically soft QB draft class. Why didn’t Nuss take advantage of that and become a multi-millionaire overnight?

Your lack of comprehension is truly astounding considering how much effort you put into it.

Seems like projections considering you read the OP and surmised this was a thread talking about how great Nuss is.

And 4k yards through the air.
He was better in 2024 than Burrow was in 2018, or Daniels in 2022.
I'm not sure I agree.
Burrow played more ranked teams in 2018 and finished with a better passer rating against ranked teams. He had worse numbers mostly because he threw the ball 150 fewer times.
Daniels had a better passer rating overall, played more ranked teams, as well as rushing for 885 yards to Nuss' negative 35 yards. Claiming Nuss was better than Daniels in 2022 isn't even a matter of opinion like Burrow; it's just 100% incorrect.
Not to mention that Nuss had 219 attempts prior to his first year as a starter; Burrow had 39.
Nuss' biggest issues are the following:
1. In the second half of games, when he no longer had scripted plays, he had 10 TDs to 10 INTs (compared to 18 TD and 2 INT in the first half of games).
2. Against conference opponents his rating was 127.66 and his rating against ranked opponents was 116.64. He was much more pedestrian against difficult competition.
3. Nuss is not nearly as mobile as Daniels (not even on the same planet), but even Burrow had 399 yards rushing in 2018 and 368 in 2019; Nuss' only year with positive rushing yards was 2023 with 1 (yes, just 1). All other years were double digit negative yards.

I read the posts to determine this is a “how great Nuss is” thread. Most LSU fans in this thread are arguing how great Nuss was last season and will be this season. Maybe even historically great.
This was my favorite so far. Insinuating that Nuss will be better than both Burrow and Daniels.

It appears as though we've reached the point where you have realized your mistake and you are now frantically trying to deflect.

I seem to remember a man by the name of Joe Burrow that lost to Florida in 2018 and had just ok stats through that season then proceeded to have the greatest regular season of any college QB in history in 2019.
Same thing with another QB by the name of Jayden Daniels. Was just ok to pretty good in 2022 and then gave everyone nightmares in 2023 on his way to winning the Heisman.
So just because Nuss lost to Florida last year doesn’t mean he can’t flip the switch and become one of the best QBs in the country this year. I mean Nuss is the returning leader in passing yds in the country this year.

I feel such pity for you. The inability to communicate normally with others must be so frustrating.
