I’ve just accepted the fact that college is now just the NFL light

Yes, we will eventually have three and maybe four loss teams in the playoffs, but they will still be playing for seeding and home field

I called this years ago, it’s the only way to satisfy ND and Texas and Vandy who all had claims to a playoff spot without eliminating conference champ week.

Also so much f you to the BIG for pushing a 24 team playoff. That just makes the regular season irrelevant where 8-4 teams with average SoS would get in. That’s not what we want or need

I’ve let people bitch without offering my own opinion.

Four is never happening again, period.

I could live with 16 because the bracketing would be easier but conference championship games would need to go away at that point.

24 and above would be insane.

Long snappers out here getting $75k, I feel no sadness for a handful of teams playing another game or two.

There aren't 12 teams capable of winning a title in any given year, much less 16. Even though there are no truly elite teams in term of stacking talented rosters and there is more parity, I doubt you could find more than 8 teams in any given year.

Prior to NIL and unrestricted Portal free agency, the seventh or eighth ranked teams wouldn't even have a decent shot at making through three games.

This is a money grab and nothing more. We'll just have more blowouts in the early round with outmatched teams playing the top seeds.

You just went to 12 & people are complaining about who was chosen. Is that going to be easier doubling the size?

Then you have the seeding/AQ/byes debates.

4 NOW that we have 4 conferences is fine. But the earlier format blew chunks!

drop conference championships

Why?

The moment LSU wins it, you’ll be in favor of them.

Hince why I have issues with anybody below 2nd place in conferences in the Natty hunt.

About the only fair way that you’re not omitting somebody.

But you’ld have to work out the format. @ 140, there’s going to be byes needed.

Not really for it or against at this point in college football. Why??? Because nobody outside of the fans will admit that the conference championship games are only for one thing.... MONEY.

and yet we have ACC 3rd place Miami in the title game

some of you are acting like more football is bad

another set of you are acting like this is some abomination

we're close to a championship being settled on the field instead of in the boardroom and there's a ton of you who are unhappy about all of this and i can't help but think that this is probably a good sign its the right direction

I think the right number is 6.

We used to argue about just 2 teams. It has now morphed into 15 or more.

I don’t think I’ll ever be convinced that a team who lost 25% of its games deserves a shot at playing for a national championship.

The conference championship games were originally used as a per-playoff game used to secure a playoff slot.

$ankey has already sold out the SEC to ESPN by going to a 9 game conference schedule. We no longer have a level playing field.

Fans like you who probably never played in sports at the college level are simply naive about how much wear and tear is present in the SEC.

LSU is not going to win another Natty with the current setup...

I'm this close to quitting on college football.

This is not the sport I have loved my entire life. This is a monstrosity.
