I wish we still only had 12 teams.

I kind of wish it was just 10, so everyone played each other. Give the boot to Vandy and UK for football at least.

But allowing UT and OU to come to Doak Campbell on Saturdays would leave a bitter taste in the Gators' mouths, right?

I don't give a flying frick who plays FSU.

I need some catching up, whats the likely eta of 16 teams? I havent looked in to this in awhile bc I thought we were pretty set at 14 for at least a couple of years. Where did this NCSU and UVA crap come from?

I would be fine with a pod of Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, and Vanderbilt.

The speculation comes from rumors (started by West Virginia couch-burners and passed along by gossipy Waco Christian care bears and nutless bovines) that Florida State and Clemson are tired of the ACC's basketball-centric nature and want to move to the Big 12.

The rumors are "what if" those schools moving starts some sort of chain reaction among the remaining schools to look elsewhere (such as UVA to B1G, UNC to either B1G or SEC, VT to SEC or Big 12, Miami to Big 12, GT to Big 12 or B1G, NC State as a possible SEC entry) and other political issues (can VT and NC State leave without UVA and UNC finding homes first, does UNC go anywhere without Duke, is Miami too toxic for any conference to want them).

Rumors and leverage discussions at this point. I personally don't see anything coming from it.

Be nice. At least you're right about Tech being our little bro.

FWIW, for the USC game in 2008, we had 65K in the stadium. Highest attendance ever recorded.

Vandy brings reputable academics to the conference, decent minor sports, and the Nashville market.

UK is the only consistently excellent basketball program in the SEC.

My favorite idea is pick up Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Move Missouri to the West. Move Auburn and Alabama to the East.

West
Arkansas
LSU
Mississippi State
Missouri
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Ole Miss
Texas A&M

East
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

Notice I said "for football at least." They could still stay in the conference for everything else.
