Klein won’t. A&M’s AD was brought in to keep the budget under control. He let the expensive coaches go without a fight, and hired up and comers in their place. He believes in paying the players instead with a good X’s and O’s coach

That comes from numerous articles. And is a prevalent thought on the cock gobbler’s board as well.

Monken(NFL)

Monken is in the NFL because he hates college coaching because of recruiting. He's not a head coach already because he doesn't want to be.

Now Scotty knows.

I disagree. There are always good coaches out there. There are coaches that finished their careers at some FCS or D2 school that would have won a national championship at Bama, LSU, Ohio St etc.
TSRH^^
The problem is at least 4 schools coach shopping this year have entitled boosters and fanbases who will raise holy hell if their AD hires a relative no name from the D2 ranks...even if that is by far the best choice vs a P4 coordinator.

A hot FCS coach that already knows how to work in a playoff system? Y'know, like that Cignetti guy?

With so many openings at top schools the other stable schools are going to be able to poach some great talent in the portal.

Fisch is going to kill it in the right situation. Definitely at the top of any list of an AD with any common sense.

He is a Florida graduate.

Some mediocre coaches are going to be massively overpaid and then canned in a few years with enormous buyouts.

Didn't Curry and Perkins suck at their other stops too?

Yes Bama has been the high water mark for several coaches. It's almost like Alabama is really good at football.
