This committee is doing exactly what jim delaney envisioned when he demanded a committee to go forward with a playoff.

Last year, all we heard was Penn St had a bad home loss therefore tosu has to be in the cfp, even tho Penn St won the B1g championship. Yet this year, look who's sitting perfectly with 2 terrible losses, one at home one on the road. Yep, tosu can not be beaten bad enough to keep them out should they win out.

This committee was a bad idea from the get go. The fact that they factor in injuries is just one of the reasons they are straight up biased. So if clemson losses their qb halfway thru the accc cg and lose by 1 point, will they get the benefit of the doubt and be in the cfp's, hmm....

I agree with you, but when you start calling out the mental faculties of others, make sure you're not misspelling common words like basis. (Bases???)

Gee another Georgia fan that doesn't understand how the playoff rankings work and that the rankings until Dec 3rd are completely meaningless.

This. The only one that matters will be at the end. In '14, TCU was #3 in the next to last week of the season. They won the following week something like 59-3 and dropped to #6 in the very next (and final) ranking. Not saying they didn't get the right teams in that year, but I never understood why they moved TCU up when the committee had to know they'd drop 'em 3 slots if the teams behind 'em won...

DannyF. Why not have Clemson rated 2 all along? Beating Fsu should do nothing to really help your ranking. Now that Clemson moves to 2 the injury to Bryant suddenly matters and is a focus for the committee. When they moved Clemson to 2, they realized they needed to justify the move. If not have your qb against a 4-6 team makes that a good loss, then that does not say much about Clemson

Come on Danny. Deserve a mulligan. If Clemson plays on a Friday night, that’s a Clemson problem.

No, it wasn't. And he wasn't making a case for UGA, he was making a case against Clemson. Reading comprehension is so lacking on this board.

Clemson at #2 is still a fricking joke though

So after your complaint about his post you come out and agree with him?

Crap.

And yet it was Alabama fans screaming bloody murder when they were not named #1. Imagine that.

What? Another, "duh, I can't understand a simple thought." post? He wasn't making a case for Georgia. he was making a case against Clemson. Go ahead....tell us all why losing your QB for a half gives you an excuse for losing to Syracuse...a team that will not qualify for a Bowl Game?

I think in some situations the rankings do matter before the last one. If Georgia was not ranked 1, we would have fallen further than 7. I think we all agree that the top 7 control their destiny. If we were 3-4 , we would be sitting at 9-10. While winning out would still given us a chance to make it, it would not be as much of a given as it is now. With Clemson, being 2 or 4 doesn’t matter as far as their concerned. Win the ACC in , lose out. Whether 2 or 4 that’s their deal. These early rankings determine who can and can’t survive a loss. Every weeks rankings are a big deal.

As someone who has been doing this for the 4th straight year I can assure you every weeks rankings do not matter. If you want confirmation ask TCU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, or a Penn State fan. They will tell you.

Unless it goes completely crazy, those top 7 are the ones with legitimate shots.

We would have to play a lot better than we did last Saturday to have a shot. I mean, I understand what you are saying. Technically we have a shot. But, I am pretty sure UGA is not one of the top 4 teams in the nation. I can see Alabama, Clemson, Miami and Oklahoma right now. Right now Auburn looks to be right around there, but I will be surprised if a 2 loss team makes it.

I do tend to agree with you, that only the last week matters.....but that can pretty much be said about anything and seems rather simplistic at best. And, it's always nice to be in the running.

2010 Auburn goes from best team in country to losing to MSU, UK, Clemson, SC, Arky, LSU and others without Cam Newton for a half

This is extremely valid considering Kelly Bryant has returned and Clemson returned to form

This is speculation. You don't know this because it didn't happen.

So if they play badly or lose another game that means his point is correct then, right?

It’s a bad loss period and it means something or else we’d be number one. Clemson moved up by default after UGA and ND were exposed like we all knew they would be....

Miami and Clemson belong in the top 4 regardless so how can you blame the committee for “creating” that matchup?

They do it every year/week, it isn't just that match-up. That is just this weeks example.

It doesn't really matter at all - but that in itself should be a problem when talking about the championship selection committee and their ranking and saying "it doesn't really matter" if you want the system to have a real semblance of merit. If you aren't worried about that then it isn't a big deal no matter what system they have in place.
