Fromm definitely is better at this point than Trask. His experience definitely showed yesterday, despite Trask not playing badly - the 19 yard sack was a killer though.

But Fromm is by far the quickest QB (at the College Level) I can remember at going through progressions, and recognizing where the blitz is coming from.

Tua and Burrow have by far the more talented WRs in a MUCH better offensive scheme (and this is not a knock against UGA players at all - the scheme is terribly basic). If Fromm had more experienced WRs in a better scheme, he could probably put up similar numbers.

Fromm is weird in that he doesn't really remind me of a good QB comp - maybe Alex Smith? But Fromm is much more NFL ready than Smith is at this point in his career. He makes throws from the left/right hash to the other side of the field consistently - which you never really see at the College Level.

I couldn't really be mad at the last 3rd down conversion either. He hit a difficult throw flat footed across the field with pressure in his face to ice the game. Perfect ball placement too.

Gonna be glad when he leaves UGA for sure.

Fromm needs to be more consistent.

He’s played two of the best games of his career against Florida, which I appreciate.

ETA: agree with the consistency point above. It’s sort of bizarre that he’ll just have 1-2 complete meltdown games a season.

I agree. I would love to see Fromm with LSU or Bamas current WRs

Fromm does a great job with presnap and a very good job with progressions (maybe great if comparing to the average college level QB).

But he isnt pinpoint accurate. His highlights are acrobatic catches. Hitting a man in stride would be more TDs.

He has the tools to win a college football national championship. But he has a lot of work to be a first round draft pick.

UGA scheme is shades of LSU under Miles. Dawgs may be in a bind when Fromm moves on. The scheme is not irrelevant to consistency — when you have a basic game plan it is easier for teams to stuff what you want to do + perhaps more importantly... a good passing game is about rhythm.

Very difficult to lock in when you’re asked to throw downfield only 15-20 times over the course of 4 quarters.

Bottom line he is about average because is accuracy is not that good. Is he shores that up he will move above the mark.

Where is this stuff about his accuracy coming from?

The guy throws a wicked back-shoulder pass.

Fromm threw it 30 times yesterday.

Speaking generally — As UGA fans have pointed out, yesterday seemed relatively “opened up”. Take out the 51 attempts in the gamecocks 2OT game, and he usually throws it about 20-25 times.

If you watch the offense operate, it looks very Miles/Mettenberger IMO. Fromm has to be near-perfect all the time. Tight windows/not much space or separation upfield — You can say that’s the fault of receivers, but I just wanna point out LSU has mostly the same WR personnel they did last year.

It’s scheme. We harped about this at LSU for the better part of a decade, even when they did well with it.

If we are talking about this season and against UF his accuracy wasn’t that good. Everyone sees it, mostly.

I guess I'm not watching the same games you are because I don't see any issue with his accuracy.

Seems very fair.

It would be hard for me to argue against any of your points.
I know it was a tough game for Gator fans. There were a lot of missed calls for both sides, with what looked like one glaring call that could have been reversed and was not....but I also understood why the call was not reversed.

Florida has come a long way since Mullen has arrived.

Fromm is a good college QB.
He makes really good throws to the flats and outs. He is pretty accurate downfield when UGA can go play action and get the receiver in space. He also rarely puts the ball in danger. And seems to be pretty good at checking the play.

UGA has a great OL, a great RB and some other very good backs. The defense appears to be lights out and the Hot Rod is money... and that’s how UGA wins games.

The fact that all above ( except the D ) fell apart against USC not withstanding.

I do not think JF11 has an elite arm, and I do not think he is first round talent. I do think we can win the college championship with him; especially if he stays next year.

I do not think we can win a shootout with Bama, tOSU, Clemson, or OU. I truly think LSU gets exposed this week , so it doesn’t matter but I would be concerned with getting in a shootout with them as well.

No one was scared of AJ McCarron; but he won a lot and titles on top of that. Jake can do the same. I don’t see why saying he’s not NFL great , but good enough in college is so bad? Unless your from his hometown why would anyone care. I just want UGA to win it all.

This is how I look at it and what concerns me...

If you have to play the Dawgs, are you worried about what Fromm does??

It doesn’t mean I don’t like the kid; it just means I don’t think teams actively worry about him beating them.

Reminds me a lot of Dak Prescott. Not gonna blow you away with his arm/size/talent but a true leader and very cerebral. I think he will be a good pro. Kinda just has that IT factor.
