It’s hard not to pick the sure national title even if it is baseball. No guarantee Petrino would have sustained his success once those amazing receivers left, it fell apart pretty quickly at Louisville. Bielema would probably be last for me. He at least had some 8 win seasons where we were competitive before it all went south.

If Sam didn't leave after the 2015 season then Bert would last a few more years but his alcoholism and lack of work ethic would due him in.

He still underachieved with the 14 and 15 teams.

The fumble, not even close.

The rest of that stuff is normal Hog drama.

The Texas game was much worse as it was one of the biggest football games of the 20th century.

Are you 20? We were good, but we had holes to fill. In Petrino’s final year it was Bama, LSU, Arkansas - 1,2,3 nationally. The scoreboard unfortunately showed that as well. Petrino was an amazing coach in his day, but he still didn’t have elite talent at all positions and that’s what held us back. Maybe we would’ve achieved that, but he wasn’t exactly a Lord of the Living Room. It was a nice compliment though - we were definitely top 10 under Petrino.

Knile Davis the SEC leading rusher had a season ending injury before the first game. That killed the rushing game and it cost Arkansas a chance to win an SEC title.

Maybe Reggie Fish fumbing against Florida and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in what would've been our first and only SECCG victory.

Mallet throwing the INT against Bama to end the game 2010 was a nut punch too

Petrino was never going to do anything at Arkansas. He simply was never good enough as a head coach to be successful.

Huh? I agree that he wasn’t going to ever be NC good because of his shortcomings, but it’s hard to argue that the Harley enthusiast wasn’t successful at Arkansas.

By far this. I was at a popular restaurant in Fayetteville when this happened. I watched a man in his 50s tip over a table after we dropped that ball in anger. He was so pissed and he said this is always happened to Arkansas fans. We are always so close but no cigar. If we had won all these close games in football, basketball,or baseball or whatever then we would be one of the elites in all three. This man you can see the pain. I'm starting to understand where he's at now.

Kinda like

Mallet throwing the INT against Ohio State to end the Sugar Bowl game in 2010 resulting in a loss.

Was there. We played almost perfect to make a huge comeback. Should have scooped and scored on the blocked punt, but I still thought we would win. Had all the momentum, in the red zone…brutal way to lose after Ohio State gets to some how delay suspension till the next season.
