Recently LSU fans became so engorged with jealousy that, get this, they conceived and executed a plan to kill several thousand black birds in Arkansas.
We would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.

In the 30's LSU students planted rye grass in Tulane Stadium (when it existed) in the form of a giant L S U, so that by game time it was in full green.
that was in 1949.

Thanks for the correction. My Dad told me of the episode and was there in the 30's so I made an assumption that it was in his era. My bad. But still a great idea! Harmless in the long run, but effective for game time.

this will cost a lot of money to fix, will probable require the land be dug up and will almost certainly kill trees that have been on campus forever.
This was a sick person...

wiki on Reville
quote:
Reveille VI (September 3, 1993 – October 18, 2003) Reveille VI was a registered collie born in Woodward, Oklahoma and took over as Texas A&M's mascot from Reveille V during halftime of the football game against the University of Louisville on November 13, 1993. Upon induction into the Aggie family, she quickly assumed the roles and duties of her predecessor and began attending university functions including football games. Shortly after beginning her duties, Reveille was stolen by a University of Texas at Austin student, Neil Andrew Sheffield. Prior to this time, Texas A&M was the only school in the Southwest Conference whose mascot had never been stolen. Reveille was taken over winter break. Because the school was closed for the vacation, Reveille was staying at the Dallas home of her handler, Jim Lively. Sheffield found Reveille alone in the back yard and lured her through the gate. For almost a week, Texas A&M denied that the mascot had been stolen. After the school finally acknowledged her disappearance, Sheffield tied her leash to a sign post near Lake Travis and called the police to report her location. She was returned unharmed to Texas A&M and resumed her duties.[10]

I think there are multiple accounts of SC fans fricking with and/or trying to steal CUs Howards Rock. Which has led them to have some big arse casing around it for the most part. And CU ROTC cadets guard it 24 hours before the SC-CU game.
SC-CU students in the early 20th century almost literally attacked each other. CU cadets vs SC students barricaded with their own personal arms almost traded gun fire.
Not really an attack on tradition but one season (lonnggg ago) some of our students got uniforms from a local high school that looked like Clemsons, ran onto the field pregame of the SC-CU that year. Clemson fans started cheering, band started playing. Our students started "warming-up" by pretty much trying to look like retards trying to play football. Clemson fans got pissed, some rushed the field.
