Bayou Academy: Won two state championships in baseball. Beat Jackson Prep in the MPSA overall state championship as a single A school. Our core team had been playing baseball together since we were 5. Caleb Reed (Miss State) was our Ace.

SEC players I can remember off hand:
Tyler Watts, Lane Bearden, Bill Flowers, Montez Billings, Jake Holland (lol), and Braxton Hoyett.

ETA: an alright football school, actually won a couple championships in baseball

Caldwell Parish High School.

Our claim to fame is we got lambasted by Roosevelt Potts from Rayville.

He literally knocked me out.

No. We always had the potential to be better, and had a few good teams after I graduated, but we are an average football program in Louisiana. Have never made an appearance in the semifinals, and only 3 appearances in the quarterfinals, with one of those appearances being in 2016.

Now softball and baseball are a different story.

Mine goes from being great to being terrible all of the time. My kids school has won a pile of state championships and regularly have players recruited to D1 schools.

Trafton Academy now called the Dunham School in Baton Rouge
Made the playoffs most years I was there but back then we played Public schools as well and usually got beat by a Kentwood or the likes

Negative, Ghost Rider. Catholic is a track and field powerhouse, but as far as football titles, even if you include the two recent titles they were forced to retroactively forfeit, they only have three. Istrouma (10), Southern Lab (8), U-High (7) and Parkview Baptist (5) all have more titles.

Yes, both offensive tackles received scholarships at UH and Rice. Left guard full scholarship at Southwest Texas. QB scholarship to Colorado St. Fullback scholarship to Steven F. Austin, RB full scholarship to Arkansas. Think he set a bowl record at the time for rushing yards. His name was Marshall Foreman. Defensive End full scholarship to OU, All American, drafted by Packers. His name was Darrell Reed. Good friend of mind

Went with Darrel on official weekend visits to University of Texas and OU for games. Went to 2 RedRiver shootouts… both OU wins. Went to a few games at OU when about was still there. OU athletic dorm was completely off the hook. Think Miami Hurricanes in their heyday.

Well, Istrouma hasn’t won anything since 1962, Southern Lab is D4, and Parkview has massively declined in the past 5 years. The only school you can make a case for right now is U-High. But they don’t have McKernan anymore so we’ll see what happens.

OP said GOAT in Baton Rouge. Three titles, two that were forfeited, is not GOAT in BR no matter how you slice it.

My wife’s family lives in Griffin. Ive watched the bears play many games. I figured adding the second high school would hurt the program but so far Griffin has been able to keep the players.

School I went to didn't have a football team. 15 state titles in basketball, frequently beat the 4a and 5a schools

While I was there? No.

Before I was there? They won 7 state championships in 27 years.

The coach then was E.B. "Red" Etter
