Lots of contact delivery.

I would like my delivery driver to give me a hug, if it's a chick, a big kiss, possibly a secret hand shake.
We, as a society, are moving farther and farther away from each other.
I'm not sure if people know this, but we need human contact. We are a social species. Life expectancy is negatively affected by 15 years.

re: 2014-like Defensive Turnaround?

I guarantee we'll find out Saturday because every defensive player is gonna get a look with the ones. It'll be easy to see who is out of position.

I too was guilty of thinking that every off season move that Ed O made was gonna turn out roses. But how could we expect such a thing?
O hit the college football lottery in 2019 with the staff that was assembled, but expecting a repeat is/was foolhardy.
2019 saw the best QB in college football history, arguably the best offensive line ever at LSU, 3 NFL ready wide receivers, one of the best RB's in LSU history, and plenty of upper class men to lead a lot of talented freshmen.
I am also disgruntled about this teams performance against UCLA, but there are so many unknowns. How can we make any assessments based on one game? Not only one game, but it was their first game.
Please don't give me the 2020 rhetoric. No coach in the country could have won with that roster, and that staff turnover.
The point is, talk to me in November. Basing a coaches future on the 2020 season is unfair. Especially after he coached the greatest college football season ever.
Maybe we should have tempered our expectations.

I did.
And would do it again.

I'd like to be optimistic, but I just can't. However...
It was their first game. There was a huge disruption. It was on the west coast. UCLA is better than we thought.
Hopefully they prove us all wrong. O's job depends on it. LSU has to go into the Bama game unbeaten in SEC play for O to have a chance at remaining head coach at LSU.
I guess we're gonna see if O can actually coach.

LSU is not good against a mobile QB. False!
Posted by Beauxcefus on 9/2/21 at 8:39 am
I'm over this narrative.
When LSU has time to prepare, they have historically been very good against running QB's. See Hurts in 2019, Oregon QB in 2011 (his name escapes me), Pat White in 2011.
John Rice Plumlee ran all over the defense in 2019, but the game was well in hand.
I think people fail to understand that LSU's DE's are faster than most any running QB.
LSU will play DTR the same way they did Jalen Hurts 2019. Make him beat you with the pass.

The talking heads will see the UCLA score and think they're good

But if you watch the game, it's obvious that Hawaii is really bad. I'm not impressed with UCLA. Unless they're playing hookie, they are in for a rude awakening.
LSU will benefit from seeing this UCLA team.

UCLA is blitzing from everywhere. It will help LSU to be able to scheme for that.

Was "Honey Badger" started on the rant?

I've been on TD since 2007, and I seem to remember the moniker being started right here on the rant.
I also remember that T. Mathieu didn't originally like the reference.
Anyone remember?

Dude, you should really learn about punctuation.
Max throwing behind receivers.

I rewatched the FU and Old Piss game and noticed that, on the crossing patterns, the receivers had to reach behind to catch the ball.
There were times when there could have been long run after catches if the pass would have been in stride.
I'm sure that will improve with more reps. Hopefully sooner than later.

That's how the game felt for sure. I just think it's one of those interesting plays that could have gone either way. I don't even know if that is why the ref called it the way he did, but in the end because of that tiny detail, it's the correct call.
Everyone else is focusing on the feet, but that ends up not being the issue.
I was watching that game live. It was a pick. Julio Jones didn't touch the ball. You can watch it on YouTube. It's obvious.

From my own team...

I just watched the Ole Miss game again, and I'm a little more optimistic. Max and Boutte had a great game. The defense, although beset with injuries, played reasonably well. That game depended on a defensive stop, and they got it.
