He doesn't feel the same pain as the fans of teams that have shared a conference with them before.

I'm gonna assume you are an LSU Tiger and not an Auburn one.

Because if you are an Auburn one... I need to explain to you. Norman has the typical stuff every other "college town" in the SEC has. We even have a place similar to Toomers corner called campus corner... and we have OKC right next door. Which is sort of like a "big" Opelika.
Heck, OKC might have as much going on as Opelika and Phenix City combined!!!

We came for the $$$ and security. The dildo network brought $$$ to you, but it sort of went against the whole "conference" thingy and led to what we have now.

Why did Texas come to the SEC?

Agree.

Texas proposed a conference network for T3 content and was shot down. Texas then went to TAMU and proposed a Lonestar Network and TAMU rebuffed because they were too poor to front the startup money and didn't want Texas to have more control as the bearer of funds. What else should we have done?

Same reasons as you, plus: (a) paying players is legal now, (b) we gain 2 historical rivals back.

You could have exercised some patience. Conference networks were just around the corner. There's no doubt in my mind that there would be a Big XII network today if you had just held your horses.

Instead, you let pride and greed dictate the future. Offering up crumbs to your 11 conference-mates was done so that you could say "We tried." Except, you didn't try. All Texas thinks about is Texas. Mizzou is so much better off now than 12 years ago. This move was a no-brainer for us.

God I love it when you post bullshite like this. It is so easy to make you look stupid, again.

quote:

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas A&M could have been a partner with Texas in a lucrative television network but wasn't interested in joining the Longhorns when the idea was hatched, Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said Thursday.

Dodds told The Associated Press he first met with Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne about the idea of an Aggies-Longhorns network about four years ago but Byrne didn't seem interested. At the time, the Longhorns weren't sure they could carry a network on their own.

Byrne tried to re-open discussions about a year ago, but by then it was too late, Dodds said.

quote:

“You can imagine the kind of angst that brought, because if you began to broadcast high school football games on a national network, you can imagine how much of an influence you might have in recruiting, especially here in Texas,” Loftin said. “So that became a big deal.”

It had nothing to do with money and everything to do with control. Donghorn U does not do anything unless it benefits them more than anyone else. A&M was not interested in joining in the network because the donghorns were planning on using the network to show high school games of guys they were trying to recruit in order to strengthen their recruiting. That actually was the final straw that sent A&M to the SEC. T'sips did not realize that A&M had another invitation to join the SEC.

How is that "lucrative" network doing now?

PTT is wrong again

Sorry for making you look stupid

No, not really. It's preset in my magic keys. I just hold down T for tejass and the F for phags keys, at the same time, and it instantly generates that line. It's actually very simple.
