How many times do you think you’ve posted that?

Apples and oranges.
The SOSs weren’t comparable during the respective seasons, nor were the experience levels of the players.
He was still using Sumlin’s tools in year two.

Right or wrong—and it drives many of our fans nuts—Texas A&M University isn’t a knee-jerk institution when it comes to replacing personnel.
That applies to athletics, academics, administration, and/or leadership positions.
Short of a legal or ethical violation, the university will always give new hires time to implement their vision.

I would say 7? It seems that the A&M schedule comes up the most for some reason around here. I did one for Arkansas the other day and try to every time I see a schedule thread without it posted. Just makes things easier for everyone to look and further the discussion. You ok with that?

Around 3-9, 4-8.

Anything short of that, there is no real heat, except the standard loud mssg board and clickbait talking head manufactured meaningless fake news heat.

He’s had two full recruiting cycles with his guys. Two. One class was ranked 3rd, the other 6. His first class was mainly keeping Sumlin’s class together as that was the first yr for DEC early signing period and he wasn’t brought on until roughly ten days prior and he needed bodies so honored Sumlin’s offers.

His players are young. Talented but young.

A 3rd true recruiting class of his own (2021) combined with next year’s on field results and beyond will be more indicative of his heat level, if any at that point.

Additionally and justifiably, I think most all coaches get somewhat of a pass this year due to the ongoing myriad challenges CV has and continues to present.

If he loses a game before the Auburn game, the national pundits will start the talk. He loses Auburn to go 5-2, I think the local folks start to talk. He has a Senior QB. On paper, they should start 7-0. I see 4 losses again for Jimbo. If that happens, you can bet Elko leaves for greener pastures. If that domino falls, 2021 is Jimbo’s last year. At this point Elko has been the only thing decent about Jimbo’s regime.

Serious question: why do you even post here if you’re this clueless about football?

Says the individual who thinks that A&M will lose at home to a Colorado team that lost their head coach IN MARCH.

He could go winless, and his job is safe

That is absolutely correct. Because aggy isn’t used to winning. In Jimbo’s last year at FSU when they started out 2-4, the FSU faithful got restless and some called for Jimbo’s head because they were used to winning. .aggy is used to losing, so they set low goals and at times reach them. Just having Jimbo around is winning to them, its a goal.

If Jimbo goes winless he’ll be fired before midseason

Hahaha speaking of being football clueless, we get this ignorant comment from program outsider LSUgrad08112.

Jimbo’s players he handpicked/recruited are either true freshman, RS freshmen or true sophs. Yes, he absolutely could go 0-12 this season (he won’t but could) and be fine.

Message board heat by anonymous “experts” do not reflect real world reality. He won’t (and rightfully shouldn’t) start being reviewed/graded until the 2021 season.

With back to back top 6 recruiting classes (the two with only his signature on them) we’re progressing right on schedule.

We are sort of attached to Jimbo for awhile with his guaranteed contract. I don't think people realize just how bad our recent history is. If he gets us just two 10 win seasons, it will be more than any coach has ever done since the turn of the century.

Baby steps.

Let's see him get you 1 first.

Even Sumlin did that

The number of wins this year will probably be over 10 but that’s not what’s important. Jimbo is building something here that will last more than one good season. And it comes just as the time Saban is declining. Everyone can see this but most are scared to speak it.
