Hey Aggy: what record this year turns the heater on in Jimbo's seat?

What is the win-loss that starts serious grumbling?

This is the year and schedule y'all been looking forward to, so remember that.

I say 8-4 and he should start feeling heat.

Holy shite, they only have 4 away games

I revise my claim.

9-3 he should feel heat.

Two losses to Bama and LSU is the only acceptable record.

That’s about as easy a schedule as you can get. Makes up for the brutal ones last year and the year before.

He could go winless, and his job is safe
Folks wouldn’t be happy, but he wouldn’t be fired.
No heat.

Aggies could very easily be 10-0 heading into the Alabama game.

Could just as easily be 7-3 tho

As an outsider I see 3 or 4 losses being reasonable/most likely result.

So 8-4 means he probably lost all the games he should have and perhaps one that could go either way, and won the boring games he was expected to win. Normal for A&M but obviously not much return on investment.

Not sure if that creates pressure, but anything worse than 8-4 seems like a bad result.

I see losses to Mississippi State, Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, LSU, and possibly Ole Miss and Colorado.

And as always, A&M fans will explain how they expected to go 5-7 and how it was actually a good thing and that Jimbo has the SEC right where he wants us next year

8-4 with that schedule should get him fired with cause.

Gotta think anything less than 9-3 and folks start getting squirmy

However, I could totally see them go 9-3 this year and then be really good in 2021 with a new QB and a loaded up, deep roster.

Well, Alabama and LSU are breaking in newish QBs who have been backups their entire careers (admittedly to great QBs but still). If A&M can't win the West this year... Oof.

Serious question: why do you even post here if you’re this clueless about football? Do you just need an outlet for your “golly gee willikers I’m little old EKG bless your gosh danged heart” shtick and cant think of a better place to do it?

If Jimbo goes winless he’ll be fired before midseason

There will be quite a bit of pressure on him for 2021 if we go 8-4 or worse

9-3 unless the 3 losses are reasonable. 8-4 either way.

One horrendous season—after putting the team on a positive trajectory during his first two seasons—won’t lead to him being fired mid-season.

Not only does his salary make such a move prohibitive, but the university won’t fire a coach after 2.5 seasons.

It won’t happen, so the question is moot.

His second year was a worst record than the first. With a 50-7 loss in there.

That's not a positive trajectory.

In fact, it's the opposite trajectory.
