mean that's possible but he regressed every year at UCF.

The type of recruits UCF gets and UT gets are drastically different. Scott Frost won the “National Title” at UCF, and then leaves and sucks and gets fired. Heupel goes 28-8 at UCF, leaves and gets better going to UT. Type of recruits he gets now to run his offense are more elite than what he was getting.
Let’s compare last 3 coaches 1st 2 years at UCF.

UCF-
Scott Frost- 19-7 (12-4) 6-7 1st year.
Guz Malzhan- 18-9 (11-5) 9-4 1st year
Josh Heupel- 22-4 (14-2) 12-1 1st year

Looks like to me that Heupel is the better coaches. I’ll take Heupel over both them.

No doubt.

It's still worrisome when a coach regressed every single year though.

Given UCF’s significant slide under Heupel, I doubt it.

Slide hell. He went 12-1 1st season, 10-3 2nd season. 2020 was a Covid year and only played conference games and wasn’t allowed to recruit off campus or have campus visit. 2020 year hard to count against anyone.
Remember when UCF fans was glad to see him go for Malzhan? Well they would love to have Heupel back now. Malzhan has finished 3rd and 2nd in the conference and has won more than 9 games since being there. Scott Frost was 6-7 his first year and went undefeated 2nd year and everyone thought he was the next great thing. Where is Scott Frost now?

Heupel is a winner

Fixed it for ya.

52-49. And your little players like Anderson and Burton admitted of being scared. Saban even admitted that your players were pussies and had anxiety.

What has Huepel won?

One game against Bama?

He didn’t win the natty, or the SEC, or even the SEC East.

He didn’t even beat Shane Beamer

Malzahn, with his obscene buyout, got fired for the same record & Heupel wasn’t TN’s first choice bc of that season.

Yea but it was year 2

He did it in year 1 at UCF then slowly rode the program into the ground. Very Jimbo-ish how your fans forget that he was awful in his last year there then bolted in an attempt to reset

You realize last year wasn’t his first year coaching at Tennessee, right? This is exactly what the goobers were saying prior to last year.

We were also told we would get worse every year under Huep. Turns out, you’re all a bunch of simpletons

Yep and if can’t win a ship we will find someone who can. We’ve had 3 national titles with 2 different head coaches in the last 3 decades.

We didn’t need a Herculean performance from Vince Young to have 1 in the last 50 years. Lol

His offense is already working in the SEC.

Do you think LSUs Notre Dame offense will work long term?

Heupel has what no other coach in the SEC has, he actually won a championship as a player.

We’ll see what happens, but Tennessee is in good shape and last year I fear was only the beginning.
