So where are all the sacks?
Posted on 9/15/24 at 8:58 pm to Shaft Williams
Tenn will know what a real defensive line looks like when they face OU.

It's looking like a situation where Tennessee and Tyler both win.

Lol that guy has posted here for 14 years and has always been a Bama fan. These smooth brains who cry alter in every other thread are the fricking worst

Overrated stat for a defense in my opinion. Both 2009 and 2011 Bama defenses were pretty elite and neither put up very many sacks. I do understand we’re discussing d-lines though. I’ve seen enough of Tennessee to know they have a good d-line, especially at the ends. Don’t care if they’re getting sacks or not, they’re affecting the opposing quarterbacks

Rodney Garner is pretty elite! Also Tennessee took a coach away from Deborah that he wanted badly to follow him from Washington. While Tennessee has some great players, you can’t skip over the fact the type of coaches they have on the defensive side of the ball.
Rodney Garner-DLine
Tim Banks- DC, has interviewed for multiple HC jobs already. Don’t expect to have much longer in Knoxville.
William Inge- Co-DC at Washington, LB coach UT. Debeor wanted bad and Tennessee stepped in at the last minute snagged him away from Debeor.
Garner has had 34 players drafted to the NFL. seven NFL Draft first-round picks coached and 10 All-Americans developed.
While Heupel gets the credit as HC, he should get just as much credit for brining in great coaches also. Tennessee weakest position coach so far under Heup has been Willie Martinez.

I'm not saying their DLine isn't good. I'm asking where the data is against all the soup can teams they've played so far.
An elite Dline should have elite numbers against them because they're overmatched every time they snap the ball. Why don't they?
It's a legitimate question.

OU by far has played a much harder schedule … trust me we have been thru this before at OU and we played teams beating them 73-0. Follow that up with a 50 point win at Nebraska ….. but until you face a real team with a real defense you don’t know what you have . Tenn may indeed be for real on offense and defense but right now no one has a clue …. Those 3 teams they played and yes even nc sate are bad teams . Kent state is one of the worst teams I have ever seen ….

It’s all about stopping the run first, sacks second. If you get 5 sacks a game, but give up 200+ yards rushing. That’s a really bad DL.

Against the offenses ranked in 100’s. Good job buddy.
If your D-line is so good then why only 3 sacks against terrible competition?
What is OUs offense ranked? Genuinely curious
The second statement is too laughably retarded that it doesn’t deserve a response.

So they're playing all these highschool teams with big leads........and those highschool teams are trying to run the ball? Is that what you're implying?

His statement is accurate, so why don't you be a big boy and give it a try?

It's a legitimate question.
Why have the last 4 teams that the VOLS have played(2 of them ranked) not scored a single TD? Is it because the Dline sucks?
Legitimate question

Because they're terrible
Legitimate answer.
Stop dancing around and answer my question. Where is the sack production against soup cans?
ETA: Two of them ranked?????

We don’t have many sacks because or DLine sucks. Now I’ll ask again, where is OUs offense ranked?

Tell me which "two opponents were ranked"

Dang, I thought you were an LSU fan all this time. Thanks for the clarification.
