When I was a kid, I had never even heard of Auburn.

This is the, what, third time the other two permanents for MSU is Kentucky and Vandy? Ehh.. wouldn’t mind picking up Vandy. Nashville is a good weekend trip.

We played MSU regularly too, but your point is well taken. We played Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Mississippi State pretty much every year with the other schools sprinkled in for year to year. Ga Tech was our other big rival. We played them 92 times and annually until 1988.

Tennessee is hard because they really should be playing at least Alabama, Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Kentucky every year

Similarly Georgia should at least play Florida. Auburn. Tennessee, Kentucky, and probably South Carolina every year

Regionally some of the western schools like Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and A&M make a lot of sense as every year opponents

I wouldn't be surprised if some programs did considering the shitty politics.

No - Hogs should get one Southeastern team and that would be LSU, Ole Miss or State. No reason to give such a game (LSU) to OU. Arkansas is more Southern than any of those rivalries we’re mentioned in.

We were not Big 12 like Missouri, OU, A&M and Texas and deserve to play an old Southeastern team. Way more than OU.

Why the he11 should Oklahoma and LSU be a “protected” rivalry? That’s dumb as shite

One thing I just wrote in a different post, but might get more eyeballs here.

The SEC apparently is requiring 1 extra P4 game each year.. Could a team play a SEC team not on the schedule that year to meet this requirement? That could be a really interesting idea to make some of the perm problems disappear.

If you staggered it, you could pick up that 10th game and end up with 5 perm opponents each year.

LSU Example Schedule

P1: Arkansas
P2: Florida
P3: Texas A&M

G4: Alabama or Georgia
G5: Texas or Oklahoma
G6: Tennessee or Auburn
G7: Missouri or Vanderbilt
G8: So Carolina or Kentucky
G9: Miss State or Ole Miss

G10: Ole Miss or Miss State (OOC)

That's 5 Perm's and maybe meeting the extra game requirements..

I believe this solution could also solve the Home/Away balancing issue if done correctly. You also wouldn't have to worry about another team canceling at the last minute and having to scramble to find a replacement. It would also set precedent for the important games you want to play if we ever do go to 20 teams and have a 5/5/5 schedule.

You complained about playing Missouri only 17 times. Well its more than 4 times the amount of time we played oklahoma.

Aggies so angry they ran from ou and texas and now they back under the shadow. Infact yall live in the shadows of those 2 schools and lsu

I want LSU in our third slot followed by Florida.

But I’d much rather have Ole Miss than Vandy.

It’s sucks. You never respect Vandy. No way we should be playing South Carolina.

Grok came up with this. It started with the rivalry weekend matchups then back filled the rest based on history and proximity. It's not what I would choose, but at least its impartial.

That’s probably as good at it can get. This whole big 6 talk is ridiculous. The big 6 aren’t the big 6 anymore
