My entire point is that there is no judge in the country that will award money from an institution that did not authorize it based on a single mans signature when it has to be agreed to by them. It's just not going to happen. If that was the case the guy could hire his fricking wife and as long as they both signed the fricking contract, he and his wife just got 27 million dollars. It just wouldn't happen.

If that's what you think, then you certainly didn't make that clear from the get go. You were certain that the contract is not enforceable because there was only one signature.
I'm not exactly sure who has authority to act on behalf of the University, but I would imagine that the President or Chancellor can probably act unilaterally. What's to stop them from hiring their wives?
The inverse to this little hypothetical is that an University or any business, corporation, etc. could act as though any one of their representatives has authority to bind the company and back out of contracts down the road if the contract becomes uneconomical. That's why apparent authority laws are in place.
Just admit that you don't have the slightest clue as to what you are talking about and move on.

's not if the person signing it doesnt have unilateral permissions to sign the money away.
He didn't type it, the university did gave it to him to execute the offer.
It's not difficult. Schiavo will say he was offered and told a paper contract would be sent by a REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UNIVERSITY for signatures.you idiots act like there were no verbal or written [email, etc) conversations before thia paper was drafted! Think for a second. There was a TON of back and forth before the paper was drafted. Including internal UT communications which will be subpoenaed and embarrass the school.

that's where the "his fault" "no fault of his" comes into play...he is losing this position due to issues that are based upon issues that the hirer did not have with him or his background...it was the drunks outside that had issues with rumors and grandiose fascination thinking they were going to get Jon Gruden and they were bent out of shape. he was then "harmed" with things that "Tennessee" said in "err" about his reputation which can not be repaired. that can only be repaired with monetary repair.

Are y'all still going on about this shite?
If Schiano pushes the issues, VOLS lawyers will adopt the Trump/Mexico wall model and will convince a judge that Schiano must pay for Big Dick Jeremy Pruitt's contract.

As a person that's been a head college coach (different sport)...when you go through this process and come on visits, you meet the university president or chancellor, VP's over athletics, finance, alumni, student services, financial aid, and many other things as they roll out the red carpet to say we have everything in place so you and your athletes will succeed. You're exactly right that he would not have received this contract as a first salvo...this would have been the 50th contact or more and he would have known as would his lawyer that they were at the final stage of a contract agreement with the state university...as you can see, it already was at 5 yrs @ $4.5+million a year. Tennessee didn't just invent that amount randomly, that was negotiated!!!

In your horseshite scenario, the husband and wife would go to jail. The situations are completely uncomparable.
Tennessee fricked.

Well, this isn't the entire Memorandum of Understanding...it goes from page 3 to page 5
Page 4 reads:
"(d) Subject to the University's right to terminate this MOU, until such time that the Employment Agreement is executed, this MOU shall constitute a binding employment contract between the parties"
May not change anything but that's shady to not include the one page that has an important clause in it

If currie has no signing authority, why does he even have a place for his signature? To waste everyone's time?

I truly don't know why you guys are so thrilled to be finding ways to get out from honoring a promise your athletic director made. Makes you look like complete amateurs.

Gee can’t imagine why we don’t want to pay a coach that no one except Haslam and Currie wanted for not coaching when he never coached.

I'm probably missing something, but it sounds like you are celebrating because your school isn't paying money to a coach they didn't hire.
I'm new here so go easy, but it just seems like an odd thing to celebrate.

What a crock of shite. The sheer stupidity of the entire tinfoil hat theories on how this unfolded is precisely why your coaching search was a complete abortion.
