It’s actually both. I don’t have any confidence that the next hire will be any better. They will probably go after another old coach who had some success at some point but is long in the tooth and not hungry. Hope I’m wrong.

If this is true you guys are idiots. You literally structured his contract so he no longer had to care about coaching due to all the guaranteed money. I'd hire a younger, hungry, still proven coach and give him a good salary with a tremendous upside based on achievements.
