I've been to all the SEC ones (save Texas and Oklahoma) and i'd say the list is pretty good outside of a few.

LSU would be my #1. Ole Miss I've had a ton of fun with, but there are some things that hold it back, but i'd probably still have it in my top 5 on this list, and honestly anything in the top 5 I could make arguments for.

Tennessee I think is a little high. The Vol Navy is really cool and probably is giving them a boost, but the rest of the campus tailgating is a little tough just due to the campus layout itself. That not withstanding, I absolutely love going to games in Knoxville, so it is still a blast and their strip is a lot of fun.

The rest probably seem about right to me. I think anything in the 10-15 range could make arguments for one or the other and may just depend on when you are there.

OU sent reps to SEC games the past 2 years during actual game weekends to learn what needs done to improve. So expect better tailgating at OU as we all move forward!

That’s pretty damn cool.
Kinda liking you guys already

Really?? Can anyone share what elevates these guys above Bama, UGA, Tennessee etc.?? Is tailgating at UCLA really better than renting a freaking train car with a bar at South Carolina?? Maybe beer & cheese curds at Wisconsin, but thats all I got

Agree.
I’ll bet they limited the schools from the SEC to appear more objective or well rounded.

I have not been "north" to see Wash, Ore games, but aside from SC and tailgating in Watts, I could not imagine a tailgate in Pasadena. Having a stadium far from campus is another brilliant idea to have great tailgating.

UCLA is a weird one.

A buddy has been to Wisconsin a few times and said it was an absolute blast. Very good scene there. Washington, i'm guessing maybe they are leaning hard on the scenery being right there on the water, not sure.

Definitely some head scratchers when it comes to the other conference teams on there that are ranked highly.

The pièce de résistance pertaining to tailgating is Ole Miss. Dubbed "The Grove" by locals, this 10-acre plot of land is the hub of everything during the pre-game process in Oxford. You'll see a little bit of everything here stylistically. Some will be dressed in cocktail dresses and suits, while others will be rocking overalls and body paint. The same can be said for the food -- as high-end cocktails are paired with traditional Southern classics. It's almost as if The Grove is its small community. Generations upon generations of families come here year after year to enjoy Ole Miss football. It's a truly special place -- and one that all major college football fans should check out at least once in their lifetime.
The Grove is 100% overrated, they don’t even allow barbecues or propane there everything has to be shipped in or catered and it’s an overrated, boring lame arse experience lol

I've heard Ole MIss doesn't allow an open flame. If that's true, how are they number one?
They don’t is a completely crowded overrated experience each time I’ve been there it’s been worse

While I think LSU tailgating is better, I don’t blame someone putting Ole Miss at #1. The Grove is pretty cool.

The grove is a snooze fest and your stadium is somehow worse.

Can’t stand State athletics, but I’ve actually had a great time tailgating in Starkville. Should be in the list.

The grove is definitely a spot worth experiencing but it is just not for me, the best thing I can compare it to is an overcrowded outdoor wedding reception

Went to the A&M game last year. Drove onto campus, parked in a good parking garage close to the stadium and walked up. Didn't see even one tailgate. Guess they must all be away from the stadium. We didn't go into campus too far.

Not State. We are right underneath the stadium. And plenty of them too, this is only a portion of The Junction. State tailgating should not be dismissed.

For mercy sakes…. Do not walk around Oxford with a beer in your hand. Put it in a cup.

It's actually one of the easier-accessible tailgating scenes in the SEC. Of course, I have always known folks when going there, so that may make the difference. In any event, I've never had a bad time at a State tailgate.

Went last year with a buddy who is an OM fan. Can confirm the chicken tenders were present and not much else available food-wise. Having said that, the people were plenty nice and the women were hot. So I guess it wasn't all bad.

Not a bad comparison on big weekends.

Old man take: tailgating in the Grove was much more relaxed and fun in the 1990's and early 2000's. It's now kind of a hassle with too many people.
