Let's not forget that last week Cook was bottled-up until the 7:56 mark left in the game in the only game Cook played a top defense.

Cook balled in the 3rd quarter. And Cook also balled in the 4th. I'm sorry he didn't impress versus arguably the best defense in CFB in the first half with a shitty OL and a bad QB.

Cook should have been out of the game but Jimbo wanted to pad his stats for the Heisman run

Who got 50 carries against that studly Auburn team? You shouldn't talk about padding stats.

Henry faced good defenses most weeks of the season and still was the MVP on his #2 team.

Cook faced stronger defenses from P5 schools.

Without Henry, Alabama's Coker carries all the pressure and doesn't turn into the game manager he has become. Alabama is all about Defense and Henry. FSU is a product of their ACC creampuff schedule and didn't even have to play the best D in their own conference.

And you went full retard

Why didn't they give him the ball 14 straight times in the first half
Because we weren't trying to run out the clock in the first half?

So you have a crystal ball? Are you on the Heisman board? Yeah that is what I thought!

I mean, you guys can talk yourselves into it ala Brandon Harris will march into Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama if you want, but it isn't happening. Better to accept it now.

Is it padding the stats when the game is still close?

You ever heard a saying that the defense was gased and had no legs left?

Actually I remember hearing Danielson saying the King was gassed, but he proceeded to carry the load and win the game. It's just what heisman players do. They fight through the pain to carry their team.

Fournette probably set the NCAA record for largest disparity between performances vs non-bowl teams and performances vs bowl teams.

Leonard Fournette, the Mike Hessman of college football.

Fournette has had one bad game all season. One. And unfortunately, it came in the biggest game of the year when the entire LSU team played like absolute dogshit.

19/31/1 TD vs Alabama

19/91/1 TD vs Arkansas
25/108/0 TD vs Ole Miss

Those aren't "bad games", but they were pedestrian games in the 2nd and 3rd biggest games on LSU's season.

The best players step up in big games. LF7 shite the bed against Alabama and Arkansas and was only ok against Ole Miss. All 3 games you loss.

I would rank them thusly:

Derrick Henry
Christian McCaffrey
DeShaun Watson
Baker Mayfield
Leonard Fournette
Paxton Lynch
Dalvin Cook
Ezekial Elliot
Greg Ward Jr.
Keenan Reynolds
Trevone Boykin and Nick Chubb had they stayed healthy

Fournette and Henry are both incredible running backs. I think Henry will win it honestly. However, if Fournette were the running back on this Alabama team and Henry were on LSU, I think Fournette would win it by a mile.

he also had 72 yards receiving in that game. Hard to call 180 total yards a pedestrian game, even for Fournette

Arkansas wasn't the 3rd biggest game of LSU's season. LSU just happened to lose the game. I'd put both Florida and Mississippi State above Arkansas, and he showed out in both of those games. And fwiw, Derrick Henry had 98 yards on 27 carries against Arkansas. They're not an easy team to run on.

Cook didn't do shite in the UF game for 3 and a half quarters. He got his 2 touchdowns and 112 of his 183 yards in the second half of the 4th quarter after our defense said frick it.

Henry had a few pedestrian games himself. I love how some Bama fans acting like he didn't.

Fournette had a better game against Arkansas than Henry did. You guys really need to stop using that game as an indictment of him.

In the arc of the season it most certainly was, at worst, the 3rd biggest game of the season.

Again, the argument is not that LF had bad games or isn't a good player. He is a great player who had a great season. I just don't think the details of it quite equate to winning a Heisman Trophy. Maybe I'm an irrational bammer, but I don't think that is a wild hot take.

Henry had one pedestrian game, Arkansas.

The only other game he averaged less than 5 ypc was ULM in which he had 13 carries up the middle and we attempted to work on the passing game (poorly, I might add).

No, it wasn't.

MSU
AU
Bama
OM

Were all "bigger" games when they were played.
