UT showed mountains of improvement in one year, recruited well, and Pruitt already has a signature win on the road vs a "Big 6" SEC team.

The only way Pruitt is going anywhere is if he wins 10-11 games and gets hired away. Hes not on the hot seat, not even close

Completely agree.
In fact Pruitt’s name consistently comes up as a potential replacement for Saban, upon his retirement.

East was much better in 2018. It was also his first year.

A lot more moving parts than just record.

Pruitt is nowhere near the hot seat. Lyle left him with an absolute clusterfrick, and there are no real expectations till year 3. Seat will only get warm if he misses a bowl this year.

After last years performance (especially the AU game frickup) you would think Jimbo would be on the warm seat. I guess the OT gift in the LSU game and his big contract has him protected.

The expectation was that he go 7-5 last season (bowl game aside).
He went 9-4.
And his recruiting is on a very positive trajectory.
With his salary, Jimbo’s not going anywhere.

Yeah, Morris isnt on the Hot Seat. I'll add this- These dudes on the Rant arent as good as I thought for the last 15 years at prognosticating. Arkansas will win AT LEAST 3x the games they won last year. While that doesnt make them a great team by any stretch, calling them an "auto win" when you are a Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Mizzou, or Kentucky is plain foolish.

For the OP. If he goes 0-12, 1-11, or 2-10 this year he'd probably be out. I just can't see it but I had us on 4 wins last year lol. No way we win less than 4 though, and he wont get fired for doubling up like that on wins.

He went 9-4 in a very weakened SECW in comparison to 2017. I believe every SECW team took a step back in 2018 (still better than the East).

Only way that Odom is getting fired is if we go 4-8 or worse. If that happens, something went terribly wrong. 5-7 lights the fire, 6 or 7 wins is disappointing, especially since as of now we wont experience a bowl game, but not fire able. 8 wins is expected. 9 is ideal scenario with the chance of more.

I won’t argue.
Just sayin’, he outperformed expectations.
Our folks who matter (I’m certainly not amongst them!) are very satisfied.

This one just depends.

Lose to Kentucky or Vanderbilt (as well as UNC, Chas So, App State) ... then yeah, he'll be instantly on the hot seat.

Fail to beat A&M, Mizzou, UTk, UFg, .... then yeah, his seat will warm up a bit depending upon the nature of the loss and circumstances.

UGA, Bama, the sheep humping sister bangers ..... we'll be big underdogs in those so he will get credits in his basket for winning any of those three thus hear that would offset a loss to one of the previously mentioned above.

I think whomever loses in the week two matchup between Luke and Morris will be the first coach fired from the SEC on November 30, 2019.

I also think it could be a turning point for Malzahn as well. If he drops 5+ again, he'll be gone.

Everyone else is safe.

Mark Stoops is more safe than Nick Saban?

If both went 0-12, Stoops would be fired and Saban would still have a job.

We just had our best season in a few decades and he’s matched or improved records every season at Kentucky.

Even an 0-12 Stoops would get another year to prove it’s a fluke before he’d be fired. He’d have to have some serious off the field shite happen to get fired THIS season.

I think Auburn has that burner permanently installed, and just hooks a propane truck up to it every season.

For those others, you may be right, but Arkansas is an auto-win for State this year. To suggest otherwise is plain foolish.

I don't think Arky will go 0 for 8 in the SEC again, but I also do not see them going 3-4 against those teams. Not playing a P5 noncon helps you out tremendously to try to get to the 6 win mark.

I do think Chad Morris finally wins a P5 game, but ultimately ends up 5-7.

I get that these should all be super low, but how Saban is the "coldest" seat just shy of Dabo's is beyond me.

Like Maine, LaTech, South Alabama, Troy, etc?

I mean, I agree that you guys have a better roster than us right now, but that never tells the whole story.

History suggests that someone saying ANYONE is an auto win for State is the foolish one.
