Coaches’ Hotseat Rankings

I don’t see any of these guys receiving walking papers this year.
With the exception of Malzahn, the guys on the hot seat are all newish hires; they’ll be given time.

I’m especially curious to hear from Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Tennessee fans on this issue.
Is there any scenario where your fan base would be ready to see your coach bounced this year?

—HOT SEAT—
#7 Chad Morris
#8 Gus Malzahn
#19 Matt Luke
#25 Jeremy Pruitt

—EDGE OF HOTSEAT—
#35 Will Muschamp

—SAFE FOR NOW—
#42 Derek Mason
#83 Joe Moorhead
#86 Dan Mullen
#96 Barry Odom
#107 Ed Orgeron
#114 Kirby Smart
#123 Nick Saban
#125 Jimbo Fisher
#129 Mark Stoops

Jeremy and Morris are safe for now...they only had one season. Especially Jeremy. Seems Vols fans are willing to give him time. Morris obviously sucked last year but if he can go 5-7 he will be fine for another year.

I think its Malzahn and Luke for hottest seat. Luke may turn in a 4 win season unless Rich Rod works his magic.

Mark Stoops is more safe than Nick Saban?

If both went 0-12, Stoops would be fired and Saban would still have a job.

If any second year coach should be on the hot seat it is Fisher, the rest of them have fanbases with realistic expectations.

I think Odom can be added in with Champ and agree that the 2nd year coaches are good for now.

Luke is probably safe at 5-7 and above. 4-8 and below could get shaky

I feel like Gus has built a fricking mansion and claimed the hot seat for his own

Subtle dig at Mississippi State is subtle.

They can't even remember his name.

Can't fire you if they don't know your name.

I think Morris is good with 4, maybe 3 wins. It's his 2nd season and Bert left him a steaming pile.

Yeah, Odom isn't going anywhere for now. Personally though, if loses to Scar and Kentucky again, that seat needs to get hot.

Odom is not on the hot seat even remotely. I don’t think Muschamp is either.

The only two I’d say are on any kind of hot seat would be Gus and Luke.

what the actual frick?

The only way Pruitt is going anywhere is if he wins 10-11 games and gets hired away. Hes not on the hot seat, not even close

Any list that has anyone safer than Saban should be laughed at and used for toilet paper.
