At least we didn’t give him a raise and an extension for a losing season.

Hairy Dawg... until Gus started slipping Aubie was ahead in the series with all those career killer coaches. It took you close to 19 years to catch up and go ahead in the series. You think way to much of yourselves as always.
Bowl Cut has used Gus, the BOT and Harsin for the last time with relation to negatively recruiting against Auburn.

Good luck to Lane if he ends up there.

How's Richt's career been going since GA?

That’s what we hear with every Auburn coaching change. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I doubt anybody said that when Harsin was hired.

But carry-on...

Are we talking about the same guy that has not put a defense on the field, worthy of conversation, since he has been at Ole Miss?
Did you not see OM get run off the field in various games this year?

Auburn about to pull an aTm/Jimbo move.

Why would they want him? I have asked several times, and so have many others the past two days. What has Lane won?

A few games at Podunk U in Florida?

He is 18-14 in the SEC lifetiime. 14-10 at Ole Miss.

He got hired by his alma matter

Had a few good years at the U, probably the best coach they had since Butch handed that lambo to Larry Coker.

Injected some life into that program but health issues took him out.

Mark richt got hired by a big 3 Florida school with 5 rings in their trophy case

Gus went to Disney U and Chiz became Mack Brown’s DC for the second and third times in his career.

Sounds like Richt did well compared to those two

Auburn fans claim the school is a top 15 in football.

Maybe because, using the most important measurable statistic (wins/win %), Auburn is exactly that.

OTOH, Chiz, Gus, Tommy, and maybe even Terry Bowden all hit bigger career highs than any UGA coach between Vince and Kirby.

Reality is that an HC job at any elite level P5 program will probably not end well.

Auburn expects championships

I think all programs are down this year I just don’t see Lane going to AU with Saben so close to retiring in the next few years.

Then why did every one decline post-Auburn if you “made the[ir] careers”?

Because AU is the pinnacle... it is a destination job. If you can't win there, you can't win anywhere. That's like asking why climbers don't climb a higher mountain after Everest.

On the other hand LSU was Saban's stepping stone...

I'm dead...

You ran Richt off after a 3 loss season when he had been no worse than 3rd in the East over his entire career... Georgia treats its loyal coaches like racing greyhounds.

3 years later the guy went 4-4 in the ACC, 7-6 overall and then blown out in a bowl game before having a heart attack from the stress you put him through...

Chizik got a title at AU... let that sink in... widely regarded as a terrible head coach. Got another shot at coaching and now makes bank as a commentator.
Malzahn played for a title at AU... the guy opponents said had a mickey mouse offense. Still going strong coaching a team with a recent national title.
What's going to happen when AU has a "good" coach?
