When Houston has a place even considered for a Michelin star, get back to me.
Michelin restaurants are always expensive. Houston is great for hole-in-the-wall type places. To get food as good as a 10 dollar Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston in NYC, you have to pay 100 bucks. Not kidding.
Houston has The Bayou Bengal Bar at the Petroleum Club ...

It is just further evidence that Dallas > Houston though.
Because Houston has bad arse tunnels (like CS) it not as good as Dallas....

That place is awesome. The owner of the restaurant is like 100 years old and he just sits next to the door and gives everyone a free shot of tequila as the walk in

One of the people I'm speaking of is more cultured than you will ever be. Ivy League grad, NYU alum.
Rick Bragg studied at Harvard, but he's still a redneck.

You haven't been to A&M if you don't think we have some great oaks all over campus.
I was there for half a day over 20 years ago. Met up with some folks at an A&M fraternity and caravaned down to Mexico to see REK play. The Greek houses were off campus and like nothing I'd seen east of the Mississippi. I think we went to the Chicken for lunch or a drink.
It's not like I walked the entire campus.
The Century Tree on your campus looks nice.

Ok maybe ground beef went to far but comparing brisket to pork is beyond retarded.
I personally like brisket more but I tell you what both are better than chicken. Few things suck worse than BBQ chicken. Dry as shite.

Well yeah we barely have a Greek System compared to many universities. The corps absorbs a lot of the people who want a place to fit in and have arbitrary rules thrown at them.

Nobody is trying to "make" you do anything. I'm just saying that if you can't enjoy CS it's your fault, not ours.
No stately oaks? Know how I know you've never been on campus?

I've been there times. It's not too bad, but not amazing.

I think you missed the larger point.
The campuses of LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Bama, etc. have a different look and feel than A&M's does.
You needn't spend an entire semester on campus to figure that out.
Stanford's campus probably has quite a few oak trees as well. After spending a day or two at Stanford I doubt you'd confuse it with LSU. A&M isn't *that* drastically different from the rest of the SEC but it is definitely different.
Just own it.

When I'm in Texas I really just want some ribs and Tex-Mex.
That's a tall order. I'm not the best judge of Creole food though. I'm not too fond of all the tomato.
Yeah, I feel ya. I do think we do the best ribs, Tho don't tell anybody from tennessee that. If you're ever near Tyler, my hometown, you gotta try the ribs at Stanley's. Folks will tell you country tavern is the best, but they're wrong.
