Hats off to Texas A&M.
Very cool connection with the Bush family.

OK, so I was trying to figure out that connection y-day and never could.

Was HW just a sidewalk fan?

You would think it would result in a few national championships like Bill Clinton did for Arkansas.

He fell in love with it and the traditions when he became more familiar with the state. Good article on it here LINK

He was asked to visit in the early 80s and fell in love with the place, and fell in love with the students who embraced both him and Ronald Reagan. He returned many times after that and became a passionate Aggie sports fan and donor along with his family

Bush: “What is that woman eating? It appears to be an enormous hot dog covered in batter”

Ford: “LOL I have no fricking idea”

HW was coming to games in the darkest of the Fran days mate. Not sure what you’re getting at

I don't think there has been a Presidential funeral train since Ike died in the 60s.

He has a Grad school there- put his library there, and he and Barbara buried there.

A&M repping well today!

I believe the preferred nomenclature is "t-shirt fan", but yes A&M actually has one & he loved being considered an Aggie.

They are different things:

Sidewalk Fan: fan of a program that sticks around through thick and thin due to some sort of mental tie to the program (was born in the state, family went there, etc.)

T-shirt fan: fan of a program during the successful times who feels entitled to their success just because they bought a t shirt

Basically if you take a front running fan and combine them with a sidewalk fan you get a t shirt fan.

Bet those aTm katydids feel pretty stupid watching the Old Guard guys do their thing. Kind of like going on the football field with your Halloween costume uniform.
