Eh, I wouldn't. He has still proven more then Grant at this point. Anderson has a Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight under his belt.

Didn't compare them, I said those are guys that I COVET. If I compared them Anderson would not be in that group.

He has had quite the run lately. How rare is it to have the two most coveted coaches in all of America? Mal used to be under a lot of criticism and he has responded with the two best hires in a long time in college athletics.

If you really believe that then I pity you..... No wait, I really don't give a frick, but that is pretty insulting to the top coaches in the nation.

I miss when Bama fans didn't care about basketball. You guys were so much more tolerable. Now you have a little success and you think you own the world.

Open your fricking eyes and realize that Self, Williams, K, Cal, Donavon, and Izzo would not only recruit, but coach circles around grant.

I like Grant, but you're going too far.

Also, let's not overhype Moore here, either. He hired Franchione, Price, and Shula, and he was at Bama when the violations that brought the Tide serious sanctions occurred. Let's not pretend hiring Saban is a testament to his brilliance, either. I'd say getting Saban to Tuscaloosa was luck more than anything. I could be wrong, but wasn't he going for Rich Rod, too?

I don't think as highly or Pearl as a lot of Vols fans do, but his turnaround at Tennessee was more impressive, too.

Haha no I'm definitely not trying to say that but that win is still a great accomplishment for a young coach. He has to be one of the most coveted possibly "available" coaches for a big program. Obviously the top coaches aren't available

I thought this was pretty obvious but I guess not. Still there are "available" coaches who are just as coveted or more.

Everything in FB requires luck.

They were, but Paul Finbaum kinda had a hand in ending that before it got started

He lucked out big-time with Saban. Grant was a great hire though.

Lots of hate in this thread. Bad conference or not, Anthony Grant has turned around the mess he inherited. Alabama basketball could just be another shitty West team right now, but they're not. Mal Moore made a great hire.

I agree with this, but I still think Moore gets too much credit for football. He screwed up 3 hires, may have screwed up a fourth, but he got lucky because a proven college winner realized things weren't going so well at the next level and was happy to find a way back.

I'd rather have UGA's coach than Grant. Not saying he's not a very good pickup, but to say he's the best is a stretch.

Any particular reason you'd rather have Fox than Grant? Just curious

Just comparing what each coach was left with vs. what they've managed to do with the squads. UGA was on AU's level when Fox got there.

I disagree on the talent levels, but I do agree that he's a good coach.
