Has UGA or LSU surpassed UT as the SEC's #2 all-time program?

UGA and Tennessee are tied for second most SEC titles at 13 (LSU has 12). UGA now has a better all-time conference record than UT. LSU does have a better SRS (strength of schedule and margin of victory formula) than UGA or UT, but being a non-homer I'll give the edge to the latter two as long as they have more trophies than us

5 teams have undisputed national champions.

Georgia lacks recent National Championships
Tennessee lacks recent success.
I think it depends on if you value the 1910-1970 era as much as you do 1971-2020.
If all things are equal:
1. Alabama
2. Tennessee
3. LSU
4. Georgia
If you value the last 50 years a little bit more:
1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Georgia
4. Tennessee

I'm biased obviously but I have to say that eventually recent lackluster play and only having one NC in 50 years kind of drops you from the blue blood list. I realize LSU is not a blue blood (debatable at best I guess) but I'd say we are easily the number 2 SEC all-time program if were to look at the last 50 years. Take it for what it's worth.

I hate those frickers. But Tennessee did too much for too long to knock them off the blue blood list just yet.

LSU is the number 2 program all time in the SEC. Crazy because all of that work was done in the last 20 years

Crazy how Tennessee had one of the best 20 year stretches in CFB history (1989-2007) just before their current drought

Crazy how much you post about Tennessee iwabh

LSU is the number 2.
While Bama is the Patriarch, LSU is the party in uncle of the SEC.
Tennessee is the Matriarch, otherwise known as the top Bitch.
UGA is the Aunt with 9 cats. None of which are black.

In my opinion the ansewer is yes.
This link was posted a couple of days ago by BHMKyle from Georgia. Based off his criteia, starting in 1994, it is hard to argue Tennessee has not been surpassed by LSU, Florida and Georgia over the last few years. No one to blame but ourseleves for hiring Kiffen, Dooley and Jones.
If you go back earlier than 1994, id say no.

You are correct....it depends on the criteria and era

I don't like including NCs since they are so subjective. Are you really going to say LSU going 12-2 with an NC in 2007 was better than Auburns 13-0 2004 season? UGA went 13-1 in 2002 with no NC and obviously several SEC programs have had one-loss NCs before and after that

SEC and division championships, alongside conference win rate should carry more weight than national championships.

Well, if we just include SEC championships since 2000: LSU has 5. Bama has 6.
Those are the two highest.

They are subjective but you still have to include them.
