And what has been the outcome of this? That's what is leaving this all in limbo. If this were true then I would think the CS Police would have figured it out by now. Not like we are talking about an ordinary local citizen.
By your logic then, if it was the wife, she should have been outed by now. Maybe the police are just doing the best with the limited information they have? Or do you believe they found out it was the wife and now they are either dead or all in on it too??? DUN! DUN! DUN!

I will put a ban bet on it not being the wife if you are that certain. How 'bout it?
You're getting awfully worked up over something that literally does not matter.
Furthermore, how can you ban bet? There will be nothing found. So there is nothing to bet on.

That was the dumbest response i've read in a while.
Not saying it was the wife, some utx fan stirring up something, a racist aggie fan or senile old aggie donor.
Pretty simple...CS police need to update every one on it, but cant have espn continue with no proof like they did knowing that getting spanked by msu would fire up the fanbase again.
you have no proof it was not the wife, so not sure why you are so adamant it wasn't.

I'm disturbed by the fact that in a case that has not alluded to the wife being remotely involved in this that some are willing to blame the victim before assuming that a more likely outcome is that there is a racist or troll out there that did this.
Again i never said it was impossible. I just said highly unlikely. The fact that people blame his family first, with no evidence to support it, just blows my mind.

So that's a no? You just seem so certain on your blame of the wife. Why not make the bet if nothing will come of it?

As it was intended as your original post was a bit silly itself. You are now asserting the police are withholding information on the case. Maybe there's been no update because there's nothing new in the case?
I don't control what ESPN says and your reply to my post had nothing to do with espn so i don't know why it is relevant now. Espn gonna espn, man.

I never said it wasn't for sure. What i said was it was highly unlikely but not impossible. The reason i am arguing this is that people are blaming the wife like it is the most logical assumption to work off when in fact it is not.

Applying Occam's Razor though, it is most likely from a racist A&M fan.
Applying Occam's razor to the letter not being postmarked would lead you to believe it was never mailed........which puts the person claiming to have received it in the mail as a prime suspect.

Do people seriously believe this? What would he have to gain by this?
Are you kidding? Oldest defense mechanism in the books. People were calling for his head and I mean everyone. A well placed racial slur or death threat gets everyone off his arse and calmed down the rhetoric. I really suspected his agent wrote it.

Oh yes! God forbid he got fired, $11MM, and a chance to move on and coach somewhere that wanted him. What a terrible deal for him.
It's much more likely he risks losing all his buyout $, never being a coach again, and publicly shamed for the rest of his life so that people aren't mean to him anymore.

I haven’t kept up with this story, but last night the announcers in the A&M vs MSU game claimed that Sumlin received a letter with racial epithets from an Aggie fan along with critical comments from the AD and a member of the board of regents. Has this racist letter been confirmed? The announcers were strongly criticizing the administration and the fan base for their treatment of a minority coach.
Rod Gilmore and Mark Jones are channeling their inner Van Jones by bringing up a story from September 6th.
Like I've said many times, if Sumlin were white, Gilmore and Jones would be calling for him to be fired.

I think it was reactionary. There was no logical train of thought.
exactly, emotions vs logic... if anyone doesn't think that Mrs Sumlin is a legitimate suspect if not primary suspect as the source of the letter they aren't using logic.

I can see it now "your honor she must have done it because women are not logical but emotional." Case closed!
So does his wife have a history of starting racial debates or making big scenes? What characteristics of his wife do we know about that leads you to believe she is the primary suspect?

Starting racial debates? Yes
Making big scenes? Not sure

Can we all agree it's a borderline miracle that he didn't get any anonymous racist messages for 6 years?

It was on her twitter feed but she deleted it.
Interesting that her twitter is completely silent since September 10th...

Based on her online presence, and fan accounts of being around her she's a mouthy and rude pos.

I agree with you. Unfortunately, too many get mired in the support of race over the question of competence regardless of the race of the one being scrutinized.
