Been a fan for a long time. Been to a lot of away games. Never seen the band in the upper deck.

Who cares, frick the LSU band because of that bullshite wretched screeching they played when the opposing team had the ball last year. Every team that hosts them would be wise to do the same.
Then I'm sure LSU would return the favor for visiting teams. That's not a good thing for college football.

I agree- but you have no choice when it comes to UT.

You people are just getting a taste of what we already know. Only 3K tickets, band in upper deck, no AC in locker room, etc... if you really find out what happened in Austin you will learn numerous attempts to wake players were made, families of LSU players were harassed in a nasty way, etc. Same shite whenever any decent team visits Austin.

I feel bad now that I always pulled for Texas against the aggies all those years. Please renew the rivalry and beat the shite out of them every year please.

seats cost money. Bands get corners and schit views. The UM band has the worst seats in the house at Vaught Hemingway. They cant see the field well, the jumbo screen is in a blind spot and the sound broadcasts to about half of the visitor side (including student section, fwiw) and less than a qtr of the home team

Truly the worst seats in the house. It is where they place Vets on free tix Vet Appreciation games bad.

The visiting band is a privilege.

Just put them in the tailgate area next year as a return favor

LSU will be the ONLY band all year in the upper deck at DKR. That’s really the point.

As a member of a marching band at a SEC university band in the early 2000s, I recall having to sit in the upper deck at Mississippi State at least once of the two times we went while I was there.

I feel like someone did this with Auburn's band a few years ago.

Sometimes schools choose to do that. State has chosen to put their band in the upper deck at BDS before so that the entire lower level visitor area is for their fans.I feel like a few other teams have done that too, but not positive. South Carolina might have brought a band and put them up there too? 2009?

I think Penn State brought some sort of alumni band that sat in the upper deck.

Stadium back then seated what 40K to 50K?

That would be like being in the back rows at Vanderbilt today. Still not a terrible seat. DKR is around 100K so nosebleeds really are nosebleeds.

That was a low-class move by Texas. And they want to be in the SEC. No.

Yeah even the most upper deck area at State is a good seat.

University of Alabama
I don't recall being given a reason. I know for sure we were up there for the 2003 season.

Has any LSU official said the band was out there by Texas? The LSU administration may have chosen to put them there so big dollar LSU donors could have better seats

I think we put the LSU band in the upper deck last year and a braying donkey by the sideline. That is the only way I can explain hearing the same two tones again and again in overtime.
