It’s happening much more often now, right? One of these is going to hit.

Hasn’t the grad transfer rule only been around for like 5 years? Seems a lot of people are just listing regular transfers.
But anyway, Ryan Mallett worked out ok for us after transferring from Michigan. Finished 7th in the heisman voting in 2010.

Damn. I missed that one completely. Had no idea he was even a transfer much less a grad transfer.

Mallett wasn't a grad transfer. Most freshmen aren't graduates.

Why did those 2 guys leave? One was the starting qb wasn't he?
Because Sumlin was a dumbass at handling the QB situation in 2015.

A former QB on the roster at the time said wrote in an article that Sumlin never communicated anything with them about who was playing and who wasn't playing, he'd tell one guy that he's starting this game and not tell the other that he was benched or anything. On top of that it's like he cheated on his girlfriend and when they found out, neither of them wanted him.

The most successful grad transfer for individual accomplishment was Russ Wilson. For a team it's Jake Coker winning a 'ship.
Now Coker is a bit of an anomaly though. He redshirted ananda graduated in 3 years so he still had 2 years left. Had he only had 1 year it would've been a failure because he got "beat out" by Blake Sims.

On a smaller note, Garret Gilbert did well at SMU after he left Texas and played in the NFL.

can’t think of one other than Burrow, but I don’t think he’s a grad.
Burrow graduated from Ohio State in May. It’s the reason he’s eligible this year.

Hearing LSU is undefeated with a grad transfer at QB. Working to confirm.

Russell Wilson was phenomenal for Wisconsin. Probably should have gotten Heisman consideration instead of his team mate Montee Ball.
