Bama should be worried. This reeks of LOIC. First Fluker. Now HCD. If bamas compliance were really on their game these wouldnt have happened. Miamis case has 0 to do with Bama. Bama keeps giving the NCAA the bird. They are the sports worst cheaters. Bama will lose schollies, titles, games and Saban. To Texas or show cause.

Forfeiture of wins only happens when an ineligible player or players is played "knowingly". This happened in the Langham case and is a big no no. UA compliance clearly knew well before the 1993 season that there was an agent issue with Langham and didn't follow proper protocol. This is a much different situation even though a staffer is involved.

The school doesn't have to know for the player to be ineligible. It usually just means they get punished worse. Since this case involves a coach the school should be considered as knowing from the start. But the NCAA does what they want so we will have to see.

D.J. McCarthy was fired, and LSU received 1 year probation and a reduction of 2 scholarships, for McCarthy giving Akiem Hicks a ride from the Airport and making arrangements for him to spend the night at another student's apartment in the summer just before Hicks reported to LSU for Fall camp. Akiem Hicks was ruled ineligible to play for LSU that year.

So........... People that say that an Asst. Coach giving a player less than $500 is not a big deal, well, it depends on what you think "Not a big deal" is.

I don't know what the NCAA will say about Dix, but four games to a year suspension wouldn't surprise me.

Harris, on the other hand, will likely never be able to coach for any NCAA affiliated institution again. He pretty much ruined his future with this stupidity.

The coach shouldnt be fired or HCD ineligible. Its crazy to think the NCAA makes billions and Emmert too yet 500 bucks ruins two careers.

there's equal stupidity on both sides. lsu fans thinking alabama is getting hammered by the ncaa and saban bolting for texas is no different than alabama fans acting like this is a non-issue and he was probably just waiting on loan money to make a car payment.

and fwiw, i'm more worried about LSU being able to stop a junior high offense fro scoring than i am LSU being able to score on alabama's defense

You have to admit, it's been a good show so far (the back and forth arguing).

The SECRant always brightens my day when something like this happens.

We now have an official Agent steering program that involves a coach. (As I commented about last month) If UT player continues to cooperate, you bama guys tell me how you get out of this one.

Satan may not be able to save your arse now. Your only hope is the idiot keystone cops at NCAA couldn't find a whore in whorehouse with a $ 1000 bill tied around their necks,

This is why the other agent broke the Fluker story, so there must be at least two coaches or employees with agent connections. This guy and at least one other working with a rival firm

I have no problem with borrowing the money and think it's stupid that this could be an issue.

I do have a problem with him having a 2012 Dodge Charger AND THEN needing to borrow 500 dollars. How the frick does he have a car like that then need to borrow 500 bucks? How does he make the interest payments? Did he somehow pay cash for the car, but now needs 500 extra for stolen goods? Obviously you can read between the lines, but give me a fricking break.

i just bought a 2008 tahoe and put down a sizable down payment. the monthly payments alone are almost $400. without a down payment, i would have been looking at around 500+ a month

i can go on autotrader and find a used 2012 challenger in alabama with 40k miles for $21000. with no down payment and a 5 year loan, and a current interest rate of 3% the payment is $377/month. you must suck at car shopping. ive got a beat up 07 honda fit you can buy, only $65,000. its a deal

More seriously though, it wouldn't surprise me if the backpack and sandals - shoes too probably - were all free-issue equipment to him from the FB program. The players all get free swag as part of the school's contract with whoever, in this case Nike. Sweat suits, tees, shorts, sandals and sneakers. The embroideries were most likely because the entire team gets the same stuff, and the numbers help keep them with who they belong to...
This, plus HCD has played in 2 BCS national championship bowl games. They get perks, such as gift cards where they can pick out ipads, TV's, etc.
