Is it a done deal?

LINK

Arthur Gustavo "Gus" Malzahn, III (born October 28, 1965) is the head coach for the Arkansas Razorback football program and former football player at Henderson State University. He spent the 2012 season as the head football coach at Arkansas State University. From 2009 to 2011, Malzahn served as the offensive coordinator at Auburn University. In 2010, a season in which the Auburn Tigers won the national championship, Malzahn received the Broyles Award, which recognizes the top assistant coach in college football. Prior to his stints at Arkansas State and Auburn, Malzahn served as offensive coordinator at the University of Arkansas and the University of Tulsa.

Has there been mass suicides in Arkansas and cousin fricking in the trailers of Alabama?

No?

Then no.

It might have happened if he'd lost to UGA. Hard to see him doing so now. He's safe for at least 2 years at AU. And if he beats Bama he's safe for 3 (by safe I mean he will get extension and have great money for 3 years)

I'm not convinced this isn't Sexton making sure we give Gus a new contract regardless of the Iron Bowl outcome

I agree. It's just good business. Our AD is a mess right now. Why not get your client an extension.

He got LSU to bite on the Miles to Arkansas rumor a few years ago.

Well its about time someone calls Sextons bluff. I would love it if we were the ones to do it.

Letting Gus walk after next Saturday would be a very unintelligent move, win or lose

You can stop your melt. We're #6.

If they did he would be screwed either way. He would either end in a dead end job at Arky or he wouldn't be able to milk anymore money out of Auburn until he wins enough for someone to actually want him.

Sexton isn't Miles agent, Miles and Patterson have the same agent, he used Arkansas's interest in Patterson to create that "want" from Arkansas.

Auburn is not running him off though this is about going to Arkansas where expectations are not as high as they are at Auburn and less scrutiny. That said if his team makes it to the playoffs which is a high likelihood would he walk away.

Auburn would be just fine, the point is Gus needs AU more than AU needs Gus. It would take a special kind of retard to mess up the team next year.

Well thats just incorrect. Your entire AD is a fricking disaster. Gus is the best thing Auburn has going for it.

After the LSU game 90% of the Auburn fans thought Gus was a retard and was demanding he be fired.
