Samford OC is a Malzahn disciple. He runs the exact same offense.

The thing is with the players we have right now, we could go to a couple of offensive styles. We've got receivers, no matter how young they are, really good tight ends, good OL talent (very young though and inexperienced) and very good Rb's. It isn't a team that is built just for the spread, so Chiz could go in a couple of different directions if he so chose without too much difficulty.

Yeah, Malzahn is legit. Like any good coach, if they don't have the players, then the offense does not work as well.

Chiz could always Hire Nutt as OC...

Not that bad of an idea actually. He certainly knows the league better than anyone and can do stuff with talent. I think he just sucks at game management and being in control of an entire program.

It doesn't matter if I was tired of it then. I'm tired of it now, and not because it hasn't been effective.

He can do wonders with developed QB's, but he can't develop his own in a program.

Maybe in five years. Again, GC has the go ahead to make the next OC the highest paid asst coach in the country. They key is going to be what direction he wants for his offense.

He did. Trotter wasn't his.

Frazier is too young to know how good he will be.

Oh yeah that's right. I remember AU fans saying that this summer.

Nutt would be a better hire IMO.

He's actually recruited pretty well.

#2 Dual Threat QB Tyrik Rollison in the '09 class

#1 JUCO QB Cam Newton in the '10 class

#5 Dual Threat QB Kiehl Frazier in the '11 class

All great picks but unfortunately for them Tyrik went crazy and transferred and Cam blew up and went pro a year earlier than hoped. Kiehl looks promising but is only a true FR.

When has he had to? Every job he has went to they had a senior QB...he has never coached a QB in back to back seasons...

Moseley a far as I know.

Moseley technically was, along with Tyrik Rollison. He was more of a guy to bring in depth, as we were very very low at the qb position at that point. More of a "see where he goes" type of guy.

EDIT:

Thought Alahunter was referring to Pat Sullivan to AU as OC, not Rhett Lashlee.
