Well I guess it was 5 days ago but I guess the news doesn't go as fast as the players in Georgia.

I was driving on 316 on my way to Elberton.GA on sunday and about 5 miles outside of west Athens two chargers were racing. Weaving in and out of traffic going over 100. Sad that I immediately told my wife and daughter it was very likely UGA football players.

This is Smith’s second known driving offense. He was previously arrested in January 2022 for speeding in a construction zone and driving on a suspended license. #Eagles.
Per @CBSSports over 20 people associated with Kirby Smart’s Georgia program have been arrested for driving-related offenses since January 2023.

If you’ve ever had the displeasure of being forced to traverse I-16 between Macon and Savannah, you’d understand. The worst interstate highway in the Southeast, period. Certainly the most boring.
Hell, I drove it end to end in less than 90 minutes when I was in college. That averages about 115 mph for the drive.

Does Kirby have Forza playing all day in the locker room or something?

Oh hell...that makes sense now. Never done it that fast but only because the Saturn I was making that trip in back then topped out at 95 or so.

I wish the kids would learn to drive the speed limit...or at least close to the speed limit.
That said...do you really want to discuss the actions of former players?
We can if you want to....so...is this a place you want to go?

Exactly. And that's an awful thing to do.

Pfft I’ll see I16 and raise you panhandle I10 driving west on any given afternoon. A green hellscape with the unforgiving sun directly in your eyes and the only respite being billboards for tacky surf shops and warnings of God’s imminent wrath.
frick I10.

I will see I-16 and raise you I-26 between Columbia and Charleston. I’m at the point where I will take U.S. 176 rather than risk nodding off on 26! And yes, I have driven I-16 more than a few times

Yes this is a safe space to discuss any school with an epidemic of a specific crime, sure. Not sure anyone can compete with Georgia and going 100+ though.

And what is the time limit on these crimes? A year? Two, Three?
And are the crimes in general crimes or are we restricted only to similar crimes? Because almost every school has a rich history of kids (present and former) doing stupid stuff. Everything from speeding to murder and everything in between.
I suspect you only want to restrict it to a single crime, though...and speeding is going to be your choice since it hits Georgia. But Florida likes to commit their crimes a bit more diversely, don't they? Assaults, sexual assaults, murder.
I mean, just one healdine from a single year:
REPORT: 41 Members Of Florida’s 2008 National Title Team Have Been Arrested
You could spread the speeding over several years and not reach 41, but yeah...Georgia is Thuga!
ETA
That’s about a third of the roster of the national title team. One out of every three members ended up in cuffs!
