Kind of past the midway point this season curious to see what people are thinking may happen here. SEC selects 8 1st and 8 2nd team players plus 8 freshman players. You can be on 1st/2nd All-SEC and on all freshman team from what I'm seeing. Here's my best guess right now:
First Team All-SEC
F SO. Reggie Perry (Mississippi State) - SEC Player of the year
F JR. Nick Richards (Kentucky)
F SR. Kerry Blackshear (Florida)
G JR. Mason Jones (Arkansas)
G FR. Anthony Edwards (Georgia)
G SR. Breein Tyree (Ole Miss)
G SR. Skylar Mays (Louisiana State)
G JR. Saben Lee (Vanderbilt)
Second Team All-SEC
C SR. Austin Wiley (Auburn)
F SO. Emmitt Williams (Louisiana State)
F SR. Josh Nebo (Texas A&M)
F SO. Keyontae Johnson (Florida)
G SO. Kira Lewis Jr. (Alabama)
G JR. John Petty (Alabama)
G SR. Samir Doughty (Auburn)
G SO. Immanuel Quickley (Kentucky)
Honorable Mention, non freshmen
F JR. Rayshaun Hammonds (Georgia)
F JR. John Fulkerson (Tennessee)
F SO. Darius Days (Louisiana State)
G SO. Aaron Nesmith (Vanderbilt, season cut short, 1st teamer otherwise)
G SO. Isaiah Joe (Arkansas) or SR. Jimmy Whitt (Arkansas, if Joe cant come back from injury)
G SO. Ashton Hagans (Kentucky)
G SO. A.J. Lawson (South Carolina)
G JR. Dru Smith (Missouri)
All Freshmen SEC
F Trendon Watford (Louisiana State)
F Isaac Okoro (Auburn)
G Tyrese Maxey (Kentucky)
G Jaden Shackelford (Alabama)
G Santiago Vescovi (Tennessee)
G Scotty Pippen Jr. (Vanderbilt)
G Scottie Lewis (Florida)

Not bad. If your list proved to be accurate, here's how many 1st or 2nd teamers each program would have this year:
2- Kentucky
2- LSU
2- Auburn
2- Florida
2- Alabama
1- Miss St.
1- Arkansas
1- Georgia
1- Ole Miss
1- Texas A&M
1- Vanderbilt
0- Missouri
0- South Carolina
0- Tennessee
Kind of shows how balanced the league is this year.

Not sure if he makes the first team, but I think Okoro ends up second team. He doesn’t get the offensive production to get in the first team.

Yeah I tried to balance a few things, not too many G vs. F on each team and then trying to get every team as represented as possible without simply leaving out a much better player on 1 team to get another in for pure balance reasons.

I think Okoro and Watford have very good arguments for 2nd team but get the feeling they both end up on just the freshman team. Seems like you gotta be a HUGEEEE freshman at times to get on 1st or 2nd team All-SEC, despite I'd say Watford and Okoro maybe better players than some I put on 2nd team. This was more a guess on what the SEC list would actually be, not necessarily where they should be 100%.

Okoro will be second team, and I also think Doughty will be first team. Wiley second team

Yeah no way Doughty is a 1st teamer right now, no idea who you replace him with on the guard list on 1st team to make any sense. Jones, Tyree, Edwards, Mays and Lee all have quite a bit better PER than Doughty. Jones, Tyree and Edwards are the 3 most proficient scorers in the conference around 20 ppg, they definitely wouldnt be going anywhere. Very comfortable 2nd teamer though.

Samir Doughty deserves a 1st team nod.
Okoro and Wiley deserve a 2nd team nod
Okoro and Wiley deserve a 2nd team nod

Lmao why would Doughty deserve first team?

Jones - 20 ppg, 24.3 PER
Tyree - 20 ppg, 22.2 PER
Edwards - 19.7 ppg, 23.0 PER
Mays - 16.2 ppg, 23.5 PER
Lee - 17.0 ppg, 22.7 PER
Doughty - 16.0 ppg, 18.4 PER
Yeah just dont see the argument for Doughty there over any of those guys. Not only are the other 5 guys scoring more per game, but they are all notably more efficient players overall.

PER doesn't account for defense. Not that the media will account for it either. someone has to score on every team.

PER accounts for blocks and steals so yes it accounts for some raw defensive stats, but correct in it doesnt account for just being a very good defensive player in the respect of locking a player down.

It might make more sense to you when the leading scorer on a 15-3 SEC champ and one of the best perimeter defenders in the conference gets the first team nod. You might not like it, but it might make more sense.

Nothing in the stats show Doughty as some lock down defender, he's on the lower end of Auburn's team in defensive rating and defensive box plus/minus. Also, didn't Mays just drop 30 points on him?
