DRating and DBox Plus/Minus are very flawed stats. The analytics movement has been very slow to find a good way to account for perimeter defense. It can do a good job of measuring and evaluating rim protectors, but not guarding the perimeter.

Kira dropped 25 on him last time and will probably smoke him tonight again. He doesn’t look like a good defender to me

So it's basically just an opinion he's some lock down defender, and you cant find anything to support that claim. Not to mention you're talking to a guy who just saw Skylar Mays possibly have his best game ever in 4 years here working against him going for 30 points, 8 assists to 1 turnover
Got it
Seriously, still havent seen 1 fact as to why he should be in over the other guards I have on 1st team still. I'm more than open to moving guys around if some facts are presented, just havent seen any good arguments for Doughty over those 5 guards right now. Maybe if you do 6 guards, sure.

It's amazing we still have a winning record with the team we have this year. I'm very proud of Pons and Fulkerson. Honorable mention to Vescovi for playing his heart out, too.
Safe to say Plasvic needs work..

Vescovi
Safe to say this guy saved Tennessee's season, talk about perfect timing with Lamonte Turner going out and like 2 games later Vescovi got eligible. Now obviously may not make tournament still, but Tennessee could have been a bottom dweller IMO without Turner and Vescovi never getting eligible.

In 28.8 minutes per game Emmitt Williams is averaging
13.9 points
7 rebounds (2.5 offensive)
Then call him 6th man of the year, this isn't enough to add him to an All-SEC team.

I'm assuming you don't have a synergy subscription. Mays had 11 points vs Samir as the primary defender. 9 of the 11 were from deep threes on late rotations when Samir was too far into help. If the scout had said that Mays was a "no-leave" guy, I can assure you Samir wouldn't have been that far off helping.
You act like he was abusing Samir in 1v1 iso scenarios
Listen man, all I'm saying is don't be surprised when the coaches make Samir Doughty all SEC. I literally, factually know of 4 coaches that will put him there for sure barring a meltdown.

Why not? He is 5th in the conference in PER and 10th in box plus minus and has enough volume to back that up. What other forward would you replace him with?
Also, he's not a 6th man, he's a starter, kind of hard to be a 6th man of the year when you start every game

BPM is such a bad way to measure players, PER is decent.. but still.

I wouldnt be surprised at all, as I have him on my 2nd team...
These aren't set in stone, we still have 7-8 games left, but right now, if we're only talking about putting 5 guards there, he's not one of the Top 5 when you look at the facts. He's not far off by any shape of the imagination, but you certainly see an offensive dropoff of sorts when you factor in efficiencies. Regardless of whatever you feel of him as a defender, still havent posted any facts to that end. If you have the subscription to the stats that show it, share them and compare it to the other guys. If he is much that much better, I would certainly consider it.
Simple matter here, make an argument with facts, not just an opinion.

I actually agree with you that he isn't a top 5 guard in the SEC btw. I just thought we were guessing what actually will be the All SEC team.

I posted a multitude of measures beyond those, and box plus minus is not bad, it's not perfect, but it's what I'm looking at among other things. Emmitt is a very good player, deserving of 2nd team as a forward all things considered.

Doughty's numbers will improve. He had a god awful stretch where he was struggling making layups.

Vescovi was a very, very nice find. We’re very lucky we had an open spot and he wanted to join the team mid-season because Gonzaga saw him in Mexico City in the late summer after they were already full and wanted him to wait until the spring.
Will be interesting to see how Barnes employs Vescovi/Bailey/Keon/Springer/Josiah next year in the backcourt. Different strengths but all except Keon should be able to play point even though none are really perfect fits for what Barnes wants out of the position. Could take a while to figure out the roles but that will be an extremely talented backcourt.

Pretty good list. I would argue with you about Samir Daughty being on second team, but I have to admit that I watched all of the guards you chose for first team and I think I agree with your selections. All of them at least played outstanding against AU (except for Edwards, who still played OK but shot free throws like a freshman).
