I think we all know his stats from a pretty bad UVA team.
He's obviously a bright kid who beat out the heir apparent and another highly recruited kid and he also has a year of FBS competition under his belly.
Last I checked CMR has a pretty good resume when it comes to coaching QB's
Not worried about the position at all this year and we're in a hell of a much better positions had he not transfered.
I think you're thinking of Phat Phil. He's the one who made the Cox comparison. V&S actually said Lambert didn't need to be great just needed to be able to hand the ball off to Chubb and UGA would be fine.
I think those are all valuable areas to explore and wouldn't mind hearing about any given one of them. I think it's a bit much to say that this isn't a position of concern but I'm also willing to hear things out.
And I mean we can still make a quality thread and have a decent discussion. I'd honestly like to hear reasons for Lambert because every time we've had a situation similar to UGA's where no QB separates himself from the pack it's spelled trouble.

Ok, how about our 2nd string qb had a better qbr than your starter, does that work for you?

Apologies to shaft.I believe Legendary was the troller but regardless I'm really not the worried about the QB posistion especialy with surrounding cast and his experience.It really does make a huge difference.He's not gonna have a year of OTJ...

Our O system isnt designed around QB's running, thus a QBR comparison isnt apples to apples. Try passer rating and he might take you up on it.

What bet? It's a fact that Ramsey had a higher qbr than Dobbs last year. However if you want to make a bet out of it then yeah let's bet.

I mean you can read it that way and it's completely possible that it's not coachspeak. I've just heard those kinds of statements too often signal it being coachspeak for 'all of them are mediocre or meh' and am skeptical of it being a good thing at this point in the preseason. The old adage about having more than one QB meaning you have none is often though not always the case. Even so, I don't think that means they must all be bad or that Lambert is necessarily bad but I don't find it an ideal situation at all.

Wow what a shittastic thread. Lambert wasn't good by any stretch last year, but UGA is going to be better at every single position he was working with at UVA. Not expecting anything spectacular but to not assume he won't post better stats this season is asinine. Should be an interesting season, UGA doesn't need anything spectacular from the QB position, they are loaded everywhere else.
