Maybe it's his voice and cadence

His voice is annoying and douchey indeed. You can just imagine him sitting in front of the mirror practicing his "distinguished" voice. He would be a lot better if he wasn't such a try hard.

He retired from the Bengals practice squad.

be that as it may, he still could have hung around in the NFL for a couple more years and then he would have had NFL personnel options. he had options and chose TV.

I take it you've never met too many folks from Highland Park. It's par for the course.

I was pissed we didn't get him too

We backed off from him in a time where we needed any star-power we could get. A lot of fans were pissed but I think it was because we run a 4-3 and coaches couldn't see him doing that well in it. He was too big for it. I never imagined the weight would haunt him in a 3-4 and was certain he'd do well at Bama and shocked when he picked UK even though staying close to home was a factor in our initial recruitment of him.

That said, I do hope he has a better year this year.

No I haven't. I have a lot of friends that grew up in mountain brook or just filthy rich in general though. Maybe it's just that area in Texas, but I've never known an upper class upbringing to actually make somebody sound like some stereotype of a rich persons voice.

His vocabulary is excellent for a 20 something former football player, however, he needs to work a bit more on his delivery.
He uses some terms superfluously, such as "whatsoever" too many times. He will become more polished and that should go away with experience.

I was with you until the hair.

I listen every morning on Sirius. He does a fine job and is a credit to UA.

He has a lot of good qualities as an analyst, with even an aubbie liking him. But the minute he teams up with Finebaum, the bama in him oozes out by the bucket full. He cann't help it. He needs to study Herbie if he wants to see how an analyst can distance himself from his former school when being unbiased on national tv. And sorry, I am not able to get past the hair, either.

The most well known quote from a Bama player in history:

"Touch dat thang foo"

So eloquent. Obviously an English major.
