I'm not hoping for anything. The other poster said these guys work hard and should get paid due to the amount the schools make from the sport they play. And I was just pointing out that tuition, housing, books and meals cost a pretty decent amount when considering, and that is just for 85 scholarship football players.

Stop being a paranoid schizophrenic. Enjoy the NC.

McElroy's daddy was in charge of the Dallas Cowboy's Sales & Marketing Dept. His family was very "well-off". If what he said is true, somebody wasted a handful of money!

If nothing happened from that blatant Will Wade move last year, you are right… aint nothing going to happen. It's the Wild Wild West. Cheat on!

The only way the NCAA is taking anyone down is with a direct source. Player A saying this school offered me money. Obvious after the cam newton situation. If the players clam up and play dumb, the NCAA won’t do anything.

You are absolutely correct, but, it does give the NCAA reason to interview every player on that team and ask them have they EVER taken any benefit that wasn't allowed by the NCAA. And these investigators are known to put pressure on these kids. NOBODY wants the NCAA snooping around their teams and OBJ just kicked the door wide open and said come on in.
this was your post. Seems like you are getting all lathered up for nothing.

I understand that and agree. Just don't understand why LSU said it was fake.

I call bullshite. Unless he was to give it to another player. Who the frick would pay greg mcelroy.

While hilarious, I mean I don't blame Auburn fans for not being aware of how to get the most out of their players and having second rate QB's win national titles. Likewise, they don't see how to get the most for their dollar. Auburn likes to pay between 120k to 180k for their individual players when they could get off for less than 1k each.

Learn how to stretch a dollar, build a dynasty. Or, get Gus.

I see it all the time.

People love to give money in support of anything they admire.. their (receiving party) situation is irrelevant.

Greg just said on ESPNU morning radio show he received $100 handshakes while playing at Bama. Said the total amount he was paid while playing was around $1,000. Also, he admitted to having more meals paid for him than he can count.
Why come out and say this now? What's the point of him spouting off about this shite 10 years after the fact?

Does little Greggie not get enuf TV & Radio exposure already? It's kinda sad to see a guy like him trying desperately to remain relevant.

Initial reports were they were fake. There was a lot going on. They just won the freaking national championship, so I could see how they might not make much of it in the moment.

It just seemed too ridiculous to be true, but Odell was acting a fool. I believe he was drunk or under the influence of something.

His daddy could have bought him a different one for each day in the week.

He was also a finalist for a Rhodes Scholarship.

I'm pretty sure you miss the point completely. It is a violation. It won't punish players who won't play another game. It will punish the school (forfeit some official visits, limit in home visits, etc...) It will also spur an internal investigation by LSU with a report to the NCAA (who may or may not want to investigate on their own).

I’m pretty sure you miss the point completely...

There are multiple states bullying the NCAA at this point. The systemic corruption is already being attacked on multiple fronts.

I would welcome the NCAA to make a move. Congress would shite down their throats.
