Greg just said on ESPNU morning radio show he received $100 handshakes while playing at Bama. Said the total amount he was paid while playing was around $1,000. Also, he admitted to having more meals paid for him than he can count.

What does it mean.......nothing.

Thankfully for Bama the NCAA statute of limitations on McElroy's career has passed. Not sure on Burrow or the other Tigers, but I think it's more than 4 days.

Well they didn't become "ineligible" until after the Natty so it would only affect games played where they were already ineligible, i.e. next year

(it's not that severe but I'm giving you an example)

You do realize that once the clock on the NC Game went to 0:00, Burrow could take any $$$ he wants and there is nothing anyone can do about it. In the OBJ video, Jefferson was the player seen getting the cash. Guess what? Jefferson declares for the NFL yesterday. There’s not a damn thing anyone can do to players who’s college playing days were over at 0:00.

That Bammer's program is filthy. Always has been the pinnacle of a dirty program.

Trent Richardson had two new cars, and someone was paying the child support for his two kids that were both under the age of 5.

"Unemployed student athlete."

Did he also admit to wearing a crimson uniform, because that's equally obvious.

Is this a thing?

(Serious question)

True, but do you think there could have been an NCAA compliance guy sitting in a dark hole somewhere watching the game, and after seeing that think, "hmm, maybe I should go down to baton rouge and start an investigation to make sure that was the only time". Do you really want the NCAA setting up shop for years looking for something? Ask ole miss what that's like.

I'm pretty sure you miss the point completely.

It is a violation.
It won't punish players who won't play another game.
It will punish the school (forfeit some official visits, limit in home visits, etc...)
It will also spur an internal investigation by LSU with a report to the NCAA (who may or may not want to investigate on their own).

Good thing it was just cash and not some rogue tutor doing work for him. That one gets you a bowl ban, loss of scholarships and money.

So glad the NCAA is such an honorable organization.

Exactly, if he was paid with 100’s, others were paid with 1,000’s...
