The executive branch has no say-so in law making but the WH needs to GTFO trying to get in the middle of college sports. Government only breaks things, never fixes anything. I fail to believe that the SEC and B1G would agree to some points, like:

quote:

Pooled media rights across conferences

quote:

Salary caps for coaches AND administrators

quote:

Here's the room that built this ??

Nick Saban.
Adam Silver.
Condoleezza Rice.
Ron DeSantis.
Randy Levine — Yankees president.
Every power conference commissioner.

University presidents from Clemson,
Georgia, Kansas, Nebraska, North
Carolina, Tennessee and Utah.

However you feel about this, there is precedent for it. Teddy Roosevelt threatened to outlaw the sport entirely if rules changes weren't made to promote player safety, which led directly to the creation of the NCAA. So it isn't like something similar hasn't happened before.

I usually hate the government getting involved in anything, but I think they are the only body that can get college sports under control at this point.

they're the reason we're in this shite to begin with! As soon as people started lawyering up and suing everyone in their path the minute the NCAA told them they couldn't do something it got us to here.

Black Bear fans didn't mind the government saving their program when the NCAA said their QB couldn't play for a 6th year

I understand why the idea government is bad is perpetuated, ideally makes people more independent from it, but in reality society is pretty much wholly dependent upon at least moderate government intervention in every facet of life

Can't stand these AI written posts... they all use the same stupid structure like:

This isnt just a post.

This is the real information you need.

This isnt just a group of people on the internet.

These are the greatest minds online ever assembled.

An excellent historical point.

Who gives a shite? Government breaks everything it touches. It will be no different here. This will be like throwing gasoline on a house fire to put it out.

The wide-open transfer portal broke shite closely followed by the unregulated and unfettered NIL circus. I don't know what will fix it or if anything can fix it at this point, but regulation, restrictions, and oversight is desperately needed.

If I'm being 100% honest , I'd rather have the government involved that Vegas or Disney...

God yes. This is my soap box. They all have the exact same formula and it’s such shitty writing, it’s maddening. The sentence fragments presented as sentences are the worst.

then how exactly does it get fixed? The NCAA can't even enforce their own rules, the Courts have made that much clear over the past several years. So where do we go from here? Just keep plogging along until the levee breaks or people just get sick of it and quit watching?
